Bodycam Shows Florida Police Tasing Woman Accused of Stealing From Publix

Bodycam video shows a police officer tasing a woman who was accused of stealing from a Publix grocery store in Jacksonville, Florida on February 4, 2020.

An employee called the police saying they believed that the woman stole from the grocery store. Upon arrival, the woman told the officer that she had a receipt but refused to show him and accused employees of racially profiling her.

After questioning the woman multiple times, the officer stated he was going to arrest and tase her, which he did shortly after.

Following her arrest, the officer found the receipt that proved she rightfully purchased the goods. The woman later sued Publix for $50,000 in damages. The case was dismissed with prejudice by a Duval County Florida judge in December 2021.

That’s strange, why DIDN’T she show the receipt to the officer and prove to the store they were wrong?

“accused employees of racially profiling her”

Takes the guesswork out of it.

Blacks have been told repeatedly by white liberals they do not need to follow rules or listen to cops - and this is why they get shot.

Event though she played this the wrong way, I am on her side. The officer had and has a DUTY to Articulate a Reasonable Suspicion a crime was committed, he had NO EVIDENCE a crime was committed. He should be FIRED and Prosecuted for Assault and Felony Kidnapping

“why DIDN’T she show the receipt to the officer and prove to the store they were wrong?”

Because she knew she had a potential winning lottery ticket if she could provoke the cop......and sure enough.

That and black people absolutely WILL NOT comply with police directions.

That is a common thread that runs through the lions share of police shooting blacks.

I will be shocked if the cop is not white.

You missed capitalizing a few more words like Her, Side, Crime and Committed. I may have overlooked a few.

I wouldn’t have cooperated either in this situation. I would have told the Officer to get the employee that made the accusation and make them Formally Accuse me of a Crime in front of the Officer, then I would have produced the receipt and Demanded he immediately ARREST the employee for making a False Police report.

She was being as uncooperative and as argumentative she could possibly be.

What was the cop supposed to do, walk away?

As far as articulating a Reasonable Suspicion a crime was committed, he told her he needed to see a receipt and she refused saying “I don’t steal”.

I’m sorry but cops cannot and should not take people at their word like that.......she’s just too stupid and too angry to understand that concept.

“dismissed with prejudice” by a black-robed tyrant British noble. Who really won the war of 1812?

"The police showed up after the fact. She refused to cooperate."

No one has to prove their innocence in this country. It was on Publix to show proof of a crime, like video evidence for example, barring that it's their word against the customers.

With prejudice means she can’t try to sue again. Judge basically telling her she brought it on herself by being a dumbass.

Don’t want none, don’t start none.
