Yes, she could have averted much of the problem by showing a receipt but that was not her duty. In this case, neither side seemed to want to listen to the other.
And I’m sorry but that cop needs to be fired. Soon as he said “everybody that shops here is black” as his defense that was was racial discrimination he showed his hand.
