An avid hunter of endangered animals was shot dead in South Africa after his truck broke down, according to new reports.

Riaan Naude, the 55-year-old head of Pro Hunt Africa, was found dead next to his vehicle in Marken Road, Limpopo. Cops said they have no motive yet.

Two hunting rifles were found in Naude’s car near the Kruger National Park wildlife reserve, local outlet Maroela Media reported June 9.

They should have taken his rifles so they could pretend it was a robbery and not an eco-terror assassination.

Never understood the trophy hunter mentality. Good riddance.

The non-profit Heritage Protection Group said Naude was shot dead by a man who pulled up alongside him when the hunter stopped his car near Mokopane after it overheated, according to Metro UK.

It was an execution.

Big game hunting is what funds the African conservation programs, and the animals chosen for culling are old.

Without the money from big game hunting, the poachers get to run wild.

This guy has probably done more than anyone else for wildlife. Don’t judge too quickly.

Me neither. I default to assuming they were kids who were cruel to animals.

You seem to have a handle on sociopathy, though.

Never understood the trophy hunter mentality. Good riddance.

So it's OK in your mind to murder someone just because they're engaging in a completely legal activity that you don't like?

You're a real piece of work. At least you're a piece of something.

I hope there is a very special place in Hell for trophy hunters - if you don’t eat it, don’t kill it.

I’m curious. Do you support the murder of anyone else you don’t understand, or disagree with?

The legal hunts for engrandered animals are supposed to be done to remove problematic individuals so the remainder of the herd can grow larger. I.e. Dominant old bulls that are no longer fertile but kill any younger males that attempt to reproduce. By leaving them alive, you are actually destroying the herd.

Of course Africa being corrupt as it is, I’m sure this is far from always the case...

Big game hunter propaganda. The vast majority of money comes from tourists armed with telephoto lenses, not rifles.

No, I don’t understand the attraction or motivation of the trophy hunter.

I do understand the need to thin the herd for population control and selective breeding. I just don’t understand the mentality of wanting to kill an animal for sport.

Takes all kinds I suppose but some just don’t jibe with me. I also don’t feel the need for big tires on my truck, loud exhausts and so forth.

“Never understood the trophy hunter mentality. Good riddance.”

That is because you are uneducated and lead by emotions. But your feminine thinking misses something big. The health and genetic diversity of the herd is vastly improved by trophy hunting.

Tom Brady, David Beckham, and Kobe Bryant live there and go to the bars every night. The breed women copiously and get into fights they always win to deny any other male in the area a chance of breeding. So far so good...
Now a few years later, their offspring start meeting and breeding. Soon sibling and half sibling breeding is everywhere and you start seeing it in the deer herd. Weird antler arrangements, smaller body sizes, lower fecundity, etc.

So back to the small town. Someone comes and shoots the trophy males. Kobe, Beckham, and Brady rest above someone’s mantlepiece.
Other males start taking chicks home, breeding them, and soon the accidental incest ends. City health and IQ improves, and soon, the high school fields a whole team of healthy strapping males and healthy young chicks.

The effect is well studied and documented by Texas wildlife biologists. Trophy hunting is well understood in Texas. But it upsets the feminine mentality.

There’s this thing called CITES, if they were endangered they wouldn’t be hunted. It’s all very controlled and scientific but that means nothing to ignorant and emotional anti-hunting zealots. The reason Kenya lost 75% of its wildlife is because they banned sport hunting. Partly due to the influence of anti-hunting idiots and partly because it was interfering with the poaching being run by some of the ruling families.
