Rutger Hauer was one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. May he rest in peace..................

Saw it back then. I was like 12, didn’t get it.

Watched it recently, I get it now.

Blade Runner is my favorite, for sure.

PKD was an incredible genius. I liked the book better than the movie. It’s a shame that he didn’t live to see the success that his works have enjoyed post-Blade Runner. At one point, someone (Mel Gibson?) was talking about a film of Dick’s anti-abortion short story “The Pre Persons.” More relevant than ever, and one of the first out of the gate to understand the folly of Roe v. Wade, so also a shame that he didn’t live to see Dobbs.

I like the version with the voiceover by Harrison Ford.

It makes the movie a combination of science fiction and film noir.

Sean Young was quite good in this one, as I recall.

It’s certainly a great movie, but the greatest ever? Nope. Plan 9 From Outer space is the Greatest SciFi movie ever. No other movie has gotten such mileage per dollar.

I noted Daryl Hannah “replicated” her Blade Runner death scene in Kill Bill 2.

I would watch bowling if Sean Young was in it.

"...the Greatest Sci-Fi of All-Time"

Clear of example of overstatement on Tom's part!
IMHO...
It was an excellent movie with an excellent lead actor based on a super excellent book...

Batty delivers one of the greatest speeches in cinematic history in his ‘Tears in rain’ soliloquy. Hauer himself took a hands-on approach to the speech, amending and cutting back screenwriter David People’s original words. Reportedly, after the first take some crew members were moved to tears themselves.

Superhuman is pierced by a nail through the hands. He holds a dove of peace. Even though man is trying to destroy him, he saves man, and dies while telling him of the glorious things of the universe. fantastic

Deckard: You're reading a magazine. You come across a full-page nude photo of a girl.

Rachael: Is this testing whether I'm a replicant or a lesbian, Mr. Deckard?
