Since the premiere of real-life criminal drama shows "The Dropout" and "Inventing Anna," America has become enraptured with the stories of Elizabeth Holmes and Anna Sorokin. Each series resulted in numerous hot takes on social media, with discourse around how two women managed to dupe the country's "elite" and heads of multi-million dollar companies, using what turned out to be elaborate schemes.
We are not here to discuss whether the victims of these scams deserved their fates, or whether the consequences matched the crime, but rather illuminate one fact that has become clear with these stories: these women were only able to execute scams of this magnitude because of the way they look. It simply would not have been possible had they been Black.

Google what?
The thing about Holmes’s con was that I did not pay any attention to the saga after I heard the pitch the first time - because I knew what she was selling was impossible, absurdly so, in fact.
Excuse me, but it’s Madison Ave. and all those liberals in the advertising business that have pushed the thin blonde standard on us for decades. Remember Twiggy?
I can’t recall any straight man (of any ethnicity) that does not covet a thin, blonde, blue-eyed woman (TBBEW). It’s just universal. Now that does not mean other women cannot be beautiful (plenty are). But there is just something about a TBBEW that elevates them to the pinnacle of female beauty. Also, they are in relatively short supply.
Which is why so many women color their hair blond (yes, they do).
BTW, as I’ve aged, I’ve grown to appreciate Asian women too. Something I did not do when I was younger.
Crazy eyes.
Both Michelle Phillips and Julie Newmar were always the pinnacle of female hotness to me.
Was it a scam? Was the lady who started the company really a woman, a transvestite, or a transsexual? Interesting story, with many unanswered questions, like the 2 I presented.
Who are "The Lady and the Dale" from the new HBO doc? Meet Elizabeth Carmichael and her car.
The Dale, in all its three-wheeled glory.
Maybe the author can explain this? But I doubt she wants to.
I have been told I was too skeptical and too old to understand how miraculous new technology is.
What I find miraculous is how credulous the human race continues to be.
We have two powerful women (Harris, Brown-Jackson) of color who have white husbands. Did they use “white privilege” to get where they are? (IMHO there are many other more qualified women of color)
You'd be surprised how many times I've asked a liberal to prove something they've said and it shuts them right down.
Perfect right?
That's right. This is beautiful:
Social media and white soi bois.
They’re sisters
I won’t argue your point because I was privileged to live it for a number of years, including the (reasonably) thin part until I had my fourth baby.
I’m now 76, my hair is mostly silver white, and I still get looks from men. It amazes me.
If the beauty standard was outdated, their looks wouldn’t have worked for them.
So, it isn’t outdated.
Neither are the adages, beauty is only skin deep, pretty is as pretty does, and you can’t trust a book by its cover.
Cultural insanity 2022
Never ends
I had a conversation with a young woman tonite claimed she has a girlfriend
Petite beautiful feminine girl
I told her you’re no more lesbian than I am
You’re a cutie poseur lesbian cause it’s cool or you got daddy issues and are in rebellion
Maybe you’ll wake up sooner rather than later
It’s ridiculous
This neurosis we exist with propagated by culture and social media control
Lbgtq arguably the most strident and powerful power out there
Their bot brigade will attack
Yea, because attractive black women have never used men for their money…
What insanity
Yes, outdated beauty standards, what an UTTER PILE OF NONSENSE.
She looks exactly like a very young Coretta Scott King to me.
