GM Releasing Kits That Can Convert Old Gasoline Cars to Electric Vehicles

General Motors (GM) plans on going beyond manufacturing a fleet of electric cars, according to an announcement Wednesday regarding electrification component sets, which are capable of converting most old gasoline-powered automobiles into new-age electric vehicles (EV).

The technology will be used for EV conversion projects and GM expects to target a group of diverse commercial clients and enable them to meet their sustainability targets. Electrification components will open up new business avenues and the company estimates a market growth of $20 billion by 2030 with the increasing demand for zero-emissions technology.

(Can I get it in the wind-up rubber band edition?)

You’re not going to beat a ‘55 Chevy with a 427 or a 454 using that.

Just sayin’.

Even if you take the mufflers off your headers.

😆😅😜

I note a bunch of folks on this thread do not think there will ever be such as electric cars.

For which I disagree and unless you work for the Democrats, you can’t make me agree.

Lookit, back when I was a young woman I worked for a company called AT&T, for the manufacturing arm called Western Electric. I worked there 15 years.

We put the curl in the curly cords and jackets on the black wires that hooked to telephone poles coast to coast.

This was in Baltimore, former home of Nancy Pelosi, my childhood friend.

If you had told me that someday I would carry my phone in my pocket, that I would send messages and email upon same, that I would watch movies and TV shows on the thing, I’d have guffawed at the notion.

So I do not mock electric cars....I really think that they will be the new way to propel ourselves around.

I do not reject the idea just because I prefer the curl in the cord and hate to see it go. I do not reject the idea because my smaller mind cannot see it in the future. Well what the hell, I didn’t see movies on my telephone in a litlle 6x8 inch square either. I wanted my push button dialer to keep doing the job.

It’s going to happen as I see it. Some of you mentioned hydrogen and other possible forms of energy. Well if you had told me that the same little phone showing me movies would be charged by me putting it on an electric cord that it will then be useful for almost a day, shucks I’d have been here on FreeRepublic telliing you all were nuts.

I ain’t arguing about it anymore.

It will happen and with time, as these things go to the dismay of many Freepers, it will be improved, neat and cheaper forms of charging will be in our houses and along out highways.

I’m sticking to my story as I recall 15 years of quality assurance putting curl in cords and even making wires that went under the ocean.

I would never have believed that curly cords would ever go away, much less watching TV on a telephone that fits in my pocket.

That will drive everyone into the big “smart cities” which won’t be near as nice or smart as they say.
= = =

Which is opposite of a recent “World Health Expert” who said people should not live all cooped up and close to each other.

Do we get as many square feet as chicken? Can I sell my eggs?

Where is the electricity going to come from? You do know the PTB are planning on using the battery power stored in your car as a source to power homes and factories “when needed”. IN short, you pay for the car, and the electricity to charge it, but the person you are storing that juice for reserves the right to discharge that battery in the “service of others”. It is part of the power “production” they plan for in every green energy bill.

The best part of windmills, is they use more energy than they produce. Add in the fact that they take many acres permanently out of any farmland production, and it is clearly a Cluster Foxtrot.

I wonder how much energy is needed just to make and transport the concrete to stabilize them?

If we spent $1 trillion on Nuclear power plants beginning with Barry “the black”, we would be carbon free right now. Of course, we may need the Uranium back from Russia.

You obviously don’t live where there are hills. My town bought electric buses, and had to change the routes to avoid hills, as they would only go about 5 MPH uphills. Then of course the added cost, and quick replacement of each one. Better though, is the electric powered ferry boats, that are running on batteries charged by diesel engines. I wonder what will happen if the salt water comes into contact with the batteries and motors, like when happens in storms, wrecks or over time with the hulls begin leaking.

I never heard a word about this.

I have no idea what PTB stand for.

I am a bit too stupid about all this.

And I do not believe such a thing will ever happen.

Fossil fuel

The petroleum and gas that comes from the Earth is manufactured within the planet. It will run out when the Earth cools down in a few million years.

The science says NO, electric vehicles are not feasible in the numbers Americans want. A few, yes. Who gets those few is the trillion dollar question.

Read the particulars in the future outlooks of States such as Washington, Oregon and California. They provide the power needed estimates from 1 million electric vehicles in their garages, as a power source? With smart meters, they can easily reverse the flow of energy from your solar cells, private generators, and electric vehicles.

GM, owned and operated by the UAW is doomed.

Tesla will eat GM as a lunch appetizer. Abent China, GM can’t survive and China sales will soon end

Then there is the disrupter Tesla........

Please, that is exactly what the rats want us to do. That alone should make anyone suspicious of the wild EV claims.

Many electric grids today are stressed. More will be in the future. Do you want your mobility subject to the whim of rats out to punish We the Deplorables?

Well said. EVs are part of the rat plan to destroy the middleclass and build a Marxist hellhole on the remains.

Absolutely... And charge you for it, steal it back, and charge someone else for it again, and then steal it from them and sell it to another...

“I have no idea what PTB stand for.”

It is an important Acronym to know. The “Powers That Be”. Those who actually run this new world order and our puppet government. :)
