General Motors (GM) plans on going beyond manufacturing a fleet of electric cars, according to an announcement Wednesday regarding electrification component sets, which are capable of converting most old gasoline-powered automobiles into new-age electric vehicles (EV).

The technology will be used for EV conversion projects and GM expects to target a group of diverse commercial clients and enable them to meet their sustainability targets. Electrification components will open up new business avenues and the company estimates a market growth of $20 billion by 2030 with the increasing demand for zero-emissions technology.

You may have the last word.

ELECTRIC COMPANIES, 12.52 cents per kilowatt hour is going to become $1.25 per kWh. And then $12.52 per kWh... A fresh Orange or Apple is going to cost $25 by the time it gets from Ca or Fl to the central states.

That's a very negative way of looking at things. Just remember, first we have to survive this "Winter of Death and severe illness" the Supreme One has declared.

Because they are blind ignorant sheep and believe everything they are told. Logical, rational or not. They have absolutely no concept of the law of cause and effect at all.

Short story... Once talked with a young environmentalist from Frisco going across country on a bicycle. He was bitching about all the stinky big rigs on the road ruining the planet. So I asked him if it would be better if all those 40 Lb boxes of oranges should be transported by bicycle.

He actually said “yes they should be”... That is the ignorant mentality we are dealing with behind all this impossible crap. I could not even muster the energy to explain all the reasons why that would NEVER WORK. He would never “get it” anyhow.

We are dealing with an alternate reality based on concepts that are absolutely impossible.

“haha, good luck with all that.....same thing as EV’s in general, when they get the same mpgs, and performance as consistently as regulr gas powered vehicles...let me know.”

Since you asked…they do right now. BUT only for relatively short distances of about 100 miles per day on a daily basis. Of course, a more expensive long range battery will increase that number but the bang for the buck isn’t there.

Add the convenience of home charging and practically zero maintenance and they are fine commuter cars. Nothing more than that, though, unless you start banging a square peg into a round hole.

The advantage to living in the camps is that you can walk to work. And if you don't do a good job, you can walk to the showers.

I get the sarcasm but it is the realistic logical way to look at it. Cause and effect is a real thing. Supply and demand...

Yes, these “ geniuses “ are just guided by emotions. They lack the ability to think rationally. And they are now in charge! Scary!
Humanity relied on renewable energy for most of its existence. It was a really miserable existence! It were the fossil fuels which led to industrial revolution and changed the human life!

If you are still here in five years we’ll talk.

Save up a couple of hats because the idea is going nowhere especially with the five year time limitation. I think we are going to be mimicking Cuba, where the vintage car is going to be wanted more than the electronic SUV’s of today.

You have to ask yourself why we move from a high performance sedan, to a top heavy rollover candidate as the primary means of transportation when safety was such an important driver. No pun intended.

It is apparent the big three or five or eight are driving the move. Frankly I wish Ford was still building and developing the Crown Vic, the Mercury Grand Marquis, and the vaunted Panther Platform, Police car, but then that’s me.

If I was to take it one step further, it appears they are building for WOMEN. With apologies in advance if any of God’s creations might be offended.

Actually, Michael Moore, the leftist darling, saw this happening few years ago and made a movie about the destruction the renewables are bringing to the Earth. They shut him down for some “copyright violations”.
It is back, but it lost the momentum.

I was thinking more of a line of Fred Flintstone pedal jobs.

“I do not believe any of this.”

Then you live in an alternate reality. What he claims is the absolute fact of the situation. If this is allowed to be forced on society the result will be living a primitive life of survival in a new stone age. And this is the intended plan. Just another fork of the “culling” agenda.

GM also just released the ZZ632 Crate engine. A 1004 Horsepower, fuel injected Big Block. Plug and play, all wiring and fuel system included.

Just what I need for my 68 Camaro.

I'll blow the doors off your Tesla.

I drive a 57 Chevy Bel Air, a 67 Camaro and a 48 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup.
I actually have nothing against electric cars, as long as you don’t force me to buy one.
They will be the Future! Once we build 20 nuclear plants and upgrade the grid.
Until then, GM is dreaming and will be in for a surprise much bigger than New Coke.

The problem is the “all or none” without compromise mentality. I would fully support compromises on some of this stuff if it was actually logical and practical. Starting with allowing diesel engines to become the majority. And diesel over electric hybrids. But the concept to go full electric and eliminate all fossil fuels is just plain ignorant and totally impossible.
