A federal judge just ruled against over 100 Houston hospital workers who will be fired if they don't get the COVID-19 vaccine

A federal judge tossed out a lawsuit from more than 100 hospital employees who sued Houston Methodist over its policy requiring all staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

The workers alleged in their lawsuit that the hospital was "forcing its employees to be human 'guinea pigs' as a condition for continued employment." They also accused the hospital of violating the Nuremberg Code of 1947, likening the vaccine mandate to Nazi medical experimentation on concentration camp prisoners.

US District Judge Lynn Hughes was not sympathetic to either argument, writing in his order of dismissal Saturday evening that none of the employees were forced or coerced to take the vaccine. He also noted that the hospital cannot violate the Nuremberg Code because it is a private employer, not a government.

"Equating the injection requirement to medical experimentation in concentration camps is reprehensible," Hughes wrote. "Nazi doctors conducted medical experiments on victims that caused pain, mutilation, permanent disability, and in many cases, death."

He added that the workers were free to accept or reject a vaccine and that they would "simply need to work elsewhere" if they chose the latter.

"If a worker refuses an assignment, changed office, earlier start time, or other directive, he may be properly fired. Every employment includes limits on the worker's behavior in exchange for his remuneration," Hughes wrote. "That is all part of the bargain."

Isn’t this the guy who we get a weekly reminder in the general forum who is going to talk for hours on a podcast. Maybe he should go prepare for his audience of 8 people who have nothing better to do for an hour or so.

I bet that’s a great program. Calls people nazis. If he is this erudite with the written word, I can only imagine his handling of the spoken word. Yikes.

It is well known if you work in health care vaccines and other screening and treatments are mandated. Have been for years. This is. it a surprise. The only surprise is how long it took the first couple places to mandate it. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong but it is well known by all working in health care

People seem to forget Employers do have control over their bodies, although limited, you can be required to wear certain attire, not allowed to wear face metal (nose rings, bolts, whatever grossness) certain tattoos can’t be visible.

Hooter girls had to look like Hooter Girls……..

In your body, you can’t be a restaurant worker with Hep A.
Most Employees restrict Active T.B. employees.

Cocaine in your nose is frowned on. LOL

I mean the list is huge of the control an Employer can have over someone’s body and/or appearance.

But apparently the wait is over and now we inject Nazis and employee’s rights.

Full disclosure:

I have no intention of getting one of these "COVID vaccines," and if I ever worked for an employer who required one I'd be out the door.

This whole thing has been the most idiotic case of overwrought hysteria I've ever encountered in my life, and I find the total surrender of freedom on BOTH sides to be the worst, and most enduring, legacy of this COVID fiasco. It's like our nation took a collective IQ test -- and failed.

I suspect the only reason it took so long for anyone to mandate these vaccines is that they still haven’t received full FDA approval. That itself is what I see as the biggest problem — from the EMPLOYER’s perspective.

Gee I don’t know. Agenda. You really have to blindly ask that question. Or let’s see if you can actually understand a question and a little data analysis.

Currently there are approximately 8,000 deaths per day in America all deaths included.

In 2020 there was an absolutele increase of deaths by 19%. This number would usually be 1% year over year at the highest. What caused the increase in deaths. This number has normalized or significantly improved so far this

In American normalized to a day standard there are 110 traffic fatalities. Per day.

If we use your numbers we find 22 deaths per day from vaccine (even though they are not demonstrative of cause). So even if we accept your position as gospel truth it is still 5x more dangerous to drive a car than be vaccinated. Will you now go on a crusade to stop people from driving snd call them nazis if the don’t?

We are approaching 300m doses and 150m fully vaccinated people. Do you not understand the context that people will die of other causes daily even though the have received the vaccine? But that gets reported as agenda to your precious database. Unlike other vaccines this is new so of course the quantity of vaccines will be much higher because of the urgency of the situation. And I note that the 150M vaccinated did so not being forced. They were not held down and vaccinated.

So what you see in your diagram is coincidence my friend. But you don’t understand data. You just like to yell and scream

I am sure you also will. It answer the traffic analogy. None of the antivaxxer coterie has. Because they can’t.

In many states, an employer can fire you for almost ANY reason. Exceptions are laws which specifically protect a certain status. Vaccination (or lack thereof) is not a protected category under the law. Therefor, an employer has the legal right to fire you if you refuse vaccination. In Arizona, you can be fired for getting a tattoo, having hair the wrong length, etc.

No one has a right to a particular job. If the conditions are agreeable to you, work and collect your pay, If not, quit.

I think it is stupid to require young people to get vaccinated for COVID. But no one is forced to work there. Comparing it to death camps was stupid.

They always had that right. (See #66).

At any given time I had to submit to a drug test. The LT. showed up anywhere handed me a cup and I had to give a sample. If I refused, I was put on leave and treated as if it was a positive test result.
My privacy meant nothing.

I had to get the Hep. B vaccine, and flu vaccines.
Or find another line of work I guess.

People are not being forced to get it. But their employer may fire them if they do not. I think it is stupid of the employer, but most states allow you to be fired for almost any reason.

Vaccination (or lack thereof) is not a protected category

Since it has designation of being used for Emergency Use Only, it is not considered a vaccine yet. It is considered in a trail test to determine its effectiveness, or lack thereof. All the people taking the injection are nothing more than guinea pigs, and therefore, the employers cannot compel their employees to participate as uncompensated guinea pigs. They can fire them for other reasons, but not that.
