“There are huge strides being made in aging biology” that point to ways that we can potentially slow the aging process, says Steele, 35, whose research focuses on the ways that the body ages at a cellular level.
“We have loads and loads of different ways in the lab to slow down and reverse this process.”

I plan on frying every thing in lard when I hit 80.
Won’t make make it 100 but my food will be heavenly!
1. Teeth: I keep losing them.
2. Exercise: I can’t...too many physical limitations.
3. Sleep: Are you kidding?
4. FU.
:-) Glad I read to the last comment!
“If you sleep more 11 hours a night you are either sick or depressed.”
I love to sleep. I will sleep soundly for 8 to 10 hours. It’s medicinal. And folks are surprised to find out how old I am because I get my ‘beauty rest’
But the moment I wake up, I’m productive, constantly moving, for the rest of the day. Always in motion.
The way things are going, who wants to stick around here anyway? We’ve flushed our democracy and our freedom. What’s left? To become slaves to the state?
Transcendental Meditation 2x a day. In particular.
Not all dentists are taught the same. They may be able to do something less drastic than the dentists who would just do the typical root canal.
Plus there have been refinements to dealing with teeth issues even since we were kids. Dentists dealing with cavities back 40 years ago drilled quite a bit of the tooth away. This causes problems later in life because its easier to crack off part of a cusp as you age. Nw they make far less impact on your tooth prefering to kep as much of the structure as they can.
Babies and young children sleep a great deal but they are in an accelerated growth period.
Adults are different.
I have a depressive personality (we will now pause while everyone I have interacted with on FR for twenty years indulges in a sarcastic Nooooo really?) One thing I notice is that when I start sleeping more then ten hours I am sliding into the gray and it is time for me to do something about it.
Back snoring is very common as your soft palate collapses. You can buy gadgets to make sure you don’t roll over on your back. The easiest one is a pocket sewn in the back of your nightshirt of pjs sized to fit a tennis ball. Insert the tennis ball and you aren’t going onto your back ever again!
Sometimes I think, ‘what’s half a day if I’m rested.’
Sleep keeps me from being depressed.
I’ve been known to sleep 12 hours a day. In fact, I lost weight that way. Less time to eat.
The times that I am awake, I am productive, always on the move, usually outside. I run hard. I sleep hard.
When I was a child, my parents would never let me get enough sleep: insomnia, especially if Dad fell asleep before me because he snored. I am very protective of my sleep. Just me.
all things in moderation, including FR. Ha!
as I get older, I find I still retain some childhood memories and vivid memories of my life, but I’ll be darned if I can find my car keys half the time.
Once, I put them inside a fast-food bag after unlocking the front door so I could carry everything in. Two days later, I remembered my fish sandwich and I found the keys in the fridge in the same bag!
See a doctor and get on sleep medication.
I had insomnia for 15 years. I went for help 6 weeks ago and finally have my life back. So far I've lost 30 pounds. Since I'm sleeping through the night, it no longer feels like I'm starving all the time. I have energy again. I wish to God I had gotten help 10 years ago.
I asked because I was told I needed a root canal and crown due to the tooth chipped on one side, and I requested to just pull the tooth. They refused and I still haven’t done anything about it. It’s not painful and I certainly don’t have $$$$ for this procedure.
I have bridge work and have struggled with keeping my gums healthy until I bought a WaterPik. Use it every night before bed. I mix hydrogen peroxide with warm water. My dentist said she’s seen a dramatic improvement with my gums since I started it.
I’m 63, but people think I look 45 or 50.
I’ve been doing Maharishi’s meditation since 1975, AND drinking AND smoking since then or before. Definitely something to look into.
When the Lord wants me, he’s gonna take me. Period.
I have been lazy about it for the last year and a half, but it has kept me alive for all this time, or it could just be genetics. Hard to say.
When you reach the transcendent state, the body and the mind automatically fix themselves.
Jai Guru Dev. Maharishi Mahesh NEVER took credit for this knowledge. It came from Ayurvedic knowledge thousands of years ago.(Indo-European)
Sometimes he missed the mark a bit, but he was pretty much spot on IMHO.
I snore if I sleep on my back. But if I sleep on my side, I don’t snore.

Same here. In fact, if I sleep on my back I experience sleep apnea.
The problem with giving up wine, women, and song is that there is no wine, woman, or song.Wine doesn't have to be noisy.
Though, I must say, it is a lot quieter.
Peanut butter almost always helps me sleep.
1. I’ve heard that about teeth before and my routine includes not just brushing and flossing but also using a higher pressure water jet to get to the gums. Also, don’t forget to brush one’s tongue and use a good mouthwash.
2. I’ve also exercised lots but got out of the routine with my gym closed... since then, I’ve just been too busy to get back into the routine. One issue I have is that I take meds for gout (allopurinol) and over the years, the cartilage in my knees has vanished. I’m going to have to get into a swimming routine so that I can get the exercise and not kill my knees. Do you take a telomere supplement like a TA-65? Not cheap but I think this is quite helpful... https://www.tasciences.com/what-is-ta-65.html
3. Sleep... I sleep as much as I can but I wake up well rested after about 5 hours and that seems to work for me.
