An upscale Detroit restaurant has sparked an outrage among stoners and social justice warriors for posting their dress code on Facebook — which includes not stinking of marijuana. The Caucus Club Detroit also reminded people that hoodies and jerseys are not acceptable attire and that people should, at minimum, be wearing business casual attire if they come in to eat.
“Seriously people, hoodies and jerseys are not business attire. Neither are ball caps 🧢 and sneakers 👟. Most importantly, if you smell like marijuana don’t even think of stepping inside the Caucus Club,” the post read. They also used the hashtags #keepitclassy, #nocheechandchong, and #theydontservehotdogs.

Okay. So it might have started in the 80’s. Either way, it just looks goofy. It looks like the big rappers are giving up on the baggie pants thing - another stupid fashion look. Looks like the massive bling is going away, also.
So what? Wal-Mart sells business casual stuff, so if Brooks Brothers is unaffordable, they can still get some sort of sartorial splendor to use in the restaurant.

This is getting ridiculous. The association between Marijuana and blacks (jazz musicians) is about 60 years out of date. I live in a legal weed state and most of those who partake in my community are white. Hell, the annoying chronic pothead in my old building who kept toking even though it was a smoke free building was from Taiwan. Does noticing all this make me racist? These idiots in Michigan who are making this claim are acting like tight assed old crackers from the 1930s rather than the “African Americans” they claim to be.

During my many biz trips to Detroit in the 1980s and 1990s, there were basically two fine dining restaurants left in downtown - The London Chop House and, across the street, the Caucus Club. Both closed in the early 90s due to the descent of Detroit but reopened a few years ago. A man would not have thought of having dinner at either without a suit, a lady would be dressed to the nines. Both are probably trying to re-create a world that no longer exists.

Huge problem in Detroit. I saw this with my own eyes... An organization that will remain namesless, a Head of it goes Marine DI on a class because it smelled like a skunk and told them just because it’s legal doesn’t mean your gonna get a job and if I smell this again I will kick you out.....

Liked Greektown. Also, there was a restaurantthat had the best brunch ever. Can’t remember the name. But son-in-law asked if we had no objections, they were going to be married. I replied, what if we did? They have been married 15 years, and 4 kids. If you can think of it, I would love to know if it is still open.
Funny, I’ve seen plenty of white people in hoodies, jerseys, and ball caps. I myself wear sneakers, though not to upscale restaurants. Nothing racist about wanting to set a certain tone for their restaurant. It would only be racist if it were selectively enforced against black people and there is no evidence of that.
So why’s it gotta be called a “black oak”? and a “red oak”? or, gasp, a “white oak”? because dendrologists are fricking racist, that’s why! Do you know how dendrologists teach us to tell the difference between a red oak and a white oak? Because a red Indian shoots pointy arrows and a red oak has pointy leaves; whereas, a white cowboy shoots rounded bullets and a white oak has rounded leaves. Real cute. Racist AF. That’s what it is.
