Store owner in Texas surprised to find that customers left cash for cases of water she thought had been stolen. You don’t see much looting in Texas, because everyone is armed, and no one likes lawbreakers.

Pretty incredible that in the face of a historic disaster, Texas has seen no mass looting or violence that’s become so common in major metroplexes.

Interesting reaction on twitter…
Can you imagine this happening in Chicago, Philly or NYC?...................................................
Or even Houston.
Texas SHOULD secede - before it’s too late. They need their own immigration policy. I’m serious.
Probably just an indication of “good people” that were involved.
Happened several places. I know of a few local restaurants posting notices for hot meals for those who needed it. They were lucky to have power and not forced to close due to the boil notices.
A lot of Texans helping Texans. It was good to see.
“That critter just needed killing” is still legal in most parts. Seriously to protect people or property, deadly force is allowed. I think for property, it has to be nighttime.
Like the Japanese after Fukushima - they just lined-up for their water rations, which were distributed fairly, evenly, and without chaos.
Texans just don’t want to wait, that’s all!
ISWYDT..............................
Somehow I don’t see anything happening in Japan under ‘chaos’, except maybe a Godzilla attack.....................
The resident Karen Kare Bears told us Texans were all sitting around throwing hissys over Ted Cruz’s poodle.
NO! Texas tried that once before and it was a disaster. We’re The United States of America. One state leaves and in no time flat we’ll be some Balkanized mess.
Gotta be real careful. You don’t want to go waking up that big lizard.
If that is what it takes to get rid of socialism/communism, then I am all for secession.
it looks like white supremacists at work again.
I agree, and I live outside Philly.
I need somewhere to flee to.
I do electrical distribution design, so I would be helpful...
I’m sure there were some Karens. I know several of my friends opened their homes to those who needed warm the, food, and wKaren’s.
As for Ted, horrible optics, but honestly, there was nothing he could do in the midst of the turmoil. Beto made a good show of checking on people, but only after the Ted debacle
Yes, it was a demonstration of white privilege to pay for a needed commodity and not simply taking it.
All the non-thieves should be ashamed.
(yes, this is sarcasm, for the sarcasm-impaired)
Of course it could happen in other cities.....large cities are made up of neighborhoods and people could do something like this.
.
Politically we are already there. Once they convince Red States and individuals that "resistance is futile" we will truly be the united states.
