First Generation American - Great grand parents were "indentured servants" to the British, working on sugar plantations in the Caribbean. Friends call me a coconut. Brown on the outside, white on the inside. Of Indian (dot not feather) descent, but I'm all American and firmly believe I have a wee bit of Irish blood because of the incredible affinity I have for all things Irish and Celtic.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails...1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

The ones we love have the power to inflict the greatest scars, for what thing is more fragile than the human heart?  ~ Lady Whistledown

Feelings are irrelevant! Indeed, they are responsible for this mess. I let them get the better of me. - Simon Basset

Pride, Your Grace...it will cost you everything and leave you with nothing. ~ Lady Danbury

You cannot call yourself a Christian or a "man" if lies, deceit, the destruction of a good person are what you do best. ~ Dallasgal

“All men make mistakes, but a good man yields when he knows his course is wrong, and repairs the evil. The only crime is pride.” - Sophocles

"It's savage and it's cruel And it shines like destruction Comes in like the flood And it seems like religion It's noble and it's brutal It distorts and deranges And it wrenches you up And you're left like a zombie" ~ The Eurythmics "Love is a Stranger"

Music hath charms to soothe a savage breast, to soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak ~ William Congreve

Music in all its wonderous variety, has always spoken to me. The beauty of the notes, the lyrics, the voice...all evoke emotions and memories.. Here are some that personally resonate:

Someone You Loved - Lewis Capaldi
Violin - Amos Lee
Ghosts That We Knew and Hopeless Wanderer Mumford & Sons (not the band in the HW vid, very funny tho) After the release of Babel, they change their sound. A shame really.

Cowboy Take Me Away - a cover by Sarah Darling Stars - Grace Potter and The Nocturnals and Begin - The Wailing Jennys For the one who ______. My greatest hello and saddest goodbye. Having to let go of the person who understood you completely leaves a painful void

Magnified - NeedToBreathe
You Say - Lauren Daigle
The Four Seasons - Antonio Vivaldi
Belle nuit, ô nuit d'amour - Jacques Offenbach
The Gael - Dougie McLean
Fade To Black - Metallica
With or Without You - U2
The Cowboy Rides Away - George Strait
Pictures Of You - The Cure
Bruised and Bloodied - Seether
Wasted Time - The Eagles
The Sound of Silence - Disturbed covering Simon &Garfunkel. Find the 9/11 video to this and never forget

There are two songs that take me back to a first love, a first heartbreak and though that was a lifetime ago, I still hold my breath when I hear them:
Alive and Kicking - Simple Minds and I Melt With You - Modern English

One Goodbye - Randall King A Texas boy
Fast Moving Train - Restless Heart
Somebody's Crying - Chris Isaak
Fall At Your Feet - Crowded House
Only Time Will Tell - Asia
Smoke Rings In The Dark and It Would Be You both by Gary Allan
What I Really Meant To Say - Cyndi Thompson
Brilliant Disguise - Jandre Spangenberg covering Bruce Springsteen whom I dislike except for this song
In Dreams and I Drove All Night both from Roy Orbison
If You Could Read My Mind - Gordon Lightfoot one of Canada's greatest songwriters
The Air That I Breathe - The Mavericks remake of The Hollies hit. Raul Malo' s voice!
Crazy and I Fall To Pieces both by the incomparable Patsy Cline.
Ring of Fire - George Canyon You can't beat Johnny Cash, but I like GC for quite a few reasons
Good Day To Ride- George Canyon
Fire Woman - The CultMy song in college. Yes, there is a story there
I Wanna Be A Cowboy - Boys Don't Cry 30+ years later and I still laugh. Timeless lyrics like "Ted, oh Ted, fighting off danger!" bahahaha
More Than This - Roxy Music *sigh*
What Do I Have To Do and Save Yourself and Haunting Me Stabbing Westward. 90s post-grunge, industrial. Dark, twisty, tasty. Darkest Days is one of my favorite albums.
Hemorrhage (In My Hands) - Fuel
My Own Prison -Creed "I cry out to God, seeking only His decision"
Love Broke Thru - TobyMac This song was released in 2015. Talk about prescient
Sanctuary - Darling Violetta From a time of alpha vamps (David Boreanaz as Angel) vs a glittering soyboy vamps (Robert Pattinson as Edward ["Glitter"] Cullen.
