Boston Dynamics is dancing into the new year. The Waltham company released a carefully coordinated dance routine featuring their Atlas, Spot and Handle robots.

Earlier this month, the Hyundai Motor Group reached a $1.1 billion deal to buy a controlling interest in Boston Dynamics.

Surprising? Somewhat; I hadn't expected such good balance and dexterity for a few more years.

Terrifying? Nah. It's a great demo, but it's all created, programmed, and tested by humans.

I won't be "terrified" until a robot/AI autonomously:

• Creates a song that good.
• Programs itself to play music and sing.
• Performs the song.
• Creates the dance choreography.
• Programs itself for the dance moves.
• Performs the dance.
• WITHOUT ANY HUMANS INVOLVED.

Not happening any time soon.
