There's a YouTuber named Clickspring that has been in the process of recreating the Antikythera Mechanism using period correct techniques and tools, to show that it was possible back in the day.

His video updates stopped about a year ago, until this week when he posted another video announcing this paper, that he co-authored.

Kinda neat binge watching if you're so inclined.
