....Researchers from the GenOMICC consortium compared the 2,700 ICU patients’ genetic information with samples from healthy volunteers from other studies. They discovered key differences in these five genes: IFNAR2, TYK2, OAS1, DPP9, and CCR. They “partially explain why some people become severely sick with Covid-19, while others are not affected.”
“Our findings reveal that critical illness in Covid-19 is related to at least two biological mechanisms: innate antiviral defenses, which are known to be important early in disease (IFNAR2 and OAS genes), and host-driven inflammatory lung injury, which is a key mechanism of late, life-threatening COVID-19 (DPP9, TYK2, and CCR2),” the researchers wrote.
“This is a stunning realization of the promise of human genetics to help understand critical illness,” the project’s chief investigator Dr. Kenneth Baillie said in a statement. “Our results immediately highlight which drugs should be at the top of the list ...

Sounds promising.
Surprising this doesn’t come from the CDC nor Fauxcy. /sarc
So, do a Risk Assessment.
Ivermectin looking even better.
No vaccine
They should test the genes of the basketball player who collapsed on the court this weekend.
Had Covid during the summer. Might have given him a heart condition. He is in critical but stable condition.
Might give them some interesting clues.
Although, decades ago a basketball player died after a dunk from cardiomyopathy.
I think these days they do tests for that kind of thing
I was surprised to find ivermectin is not an over the counter drug. You need a prescription.
Oh...uh...yeah,uh...well that clears it all up.
Whee..now i can relax
You can get it without a script on line through a Canadian pharmacy!! It is called Stromectol the generic name for ivermectin!! It does take approximately 3 weeks to get it though!!
Other than what we already covered on the I guess now defunct covid thread, I haven’t seen much published in terms of effects on the heart. There was the instance of all 10 members of a track team that were mild or asymptomatic ended up with cardiac abnormalities. I’m guessing that once the vaccinations are well-underway, we’ll get more reality; that it’s being quieted for now.
That's the THIRD sentence in the ABSTRACT! I hope they cleared everything up for you in that simple summation.
"We've also found that some of the ancient hominin's (Neanderthal's) genetic material seems to trigger an overactive immune response to the novel coronavirus, resulting in a more severe case of COVID-19. This troublesome gene likely stuck around because it helped our ancestors fight disease, but now that we've identified it, we hope to understand it and open the doors to future treatments."

Correct spelling of Claire’s name: Claire Maldarelli
Hey and there’s always horse paste (delicious apple flavor, not that I’ve tried it but I have it in the covid prepper bins) if you get Covid before Canada can deliver your prescription. You can also order heartworm meds for big dogs from Canada.
Ivermectin is used topically for Rosacea to kill the skin mites they believe to be responsible for the inflamation. Is also used to kill head lice. It’s weird that it’s also effective as an oral antiviral for Covid
Get it at any vet supply. Even with apple flavoring.
I wonder if rhesus factor has anything to do with how it affects people.
As number one: I would prefer BHT which kills most lipid covered viruses, covid-19 being one of them.
Number two: A combination of QUERCETIN + ZINC + C + D
bump for later
heard the other day that blood type can determine how severe a person gets covid- don’t know if there’s any truth to it- was on newsmax- just caught the tail end of the segment- I believe they said type A was worst- Type O best for not gettign it severely-
looked it up- here’s a link if anyone is interested-
