Despite Pentagon statements that it disbanded a once-covert program to investigate unidentified flying objects, the effort remains underway — renamed and tucked inside the Office of Naval Intelligence, where officials continue to study mystifying encounters between military pilots and unidentified aerial vehicles.
Pentagon officials will not discuss the program, which is not classified but deals with classified matters. Yet it appeared last month in a Senate committee report outlining spending on the nation’s intelligence agencies for the coming year. The report said the program, the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force, was “to standardize collection and reporting” on sightings of unexplained aerial vehicles, and was to report at least some of its findings to the public every six months.
Eric W. Davis, an astrophysicist who worked as a subcontractor and then a consultant for the Pentagon U.F.O. program since 2007, said that, in some cases, examination of the materials had so far failed to determine their source and led him to conclude, “We couldn’t make it ourselves.”
The constraints on discussing classified programs — and the ambiguity of information cited in unclassified slides from the briefings — have put officials who have studied U.F.O.s in the position of stating their views without presenting any hard evidence.
Mr. Davis, who now works for Aerospace Corporation, said he gave a classified briefing to a Defense Department agency as recently as March about retrievals from “off-world vehicles not made on this earth.”

Which is somewhat different than a doctor telling you plainly that you have a broken leg. The first is an educated guess, which could be wrong. The second is a fact confirmed by hard evidence.
Sorry to see Tucker involved with this nonsense. Either you beleive Einstein and his proven theories of relativity or you beleive that UFOs are mechanical and biological entities that have travelled hundreds of light years through space to visit earth, cruise around and never make documented contact. Try to imagine the distance to go in one light year.
Advanced life probably exists elsewhere and may even be common in a universe that consists of “hundreds of billions of galaxies”. However given the laws of physics they can’t physically visit us or us them. However given that Earth has been brodcasting rintelligent radio signals for over 120 years first in analog and now digitalized, perhaps a return signal specifically designed and meant for Earth peoples will one day be received. for all we know there may be a chain of civilizations linked by radio signals. Who knows? Alien teenagers may be having fun using our atmosphere as a big screen and are putting on light shows or the aliens are announcing their very distant existence and preparaing those secret committees investigating “UFOs” for the coming messages.
We already have a global common enemy:

Any deep-water sailor will tell you it is a vert different set of skills to pilot a ship in the deep water ocean and piloting a ship close to shore.
Space is mostly empty with nothing to run in to for millions upon millions of miles.
Enter the gravity well of a planet and I can imagine things get very different.
On the other hand, I would think that an interstellar culture would have sophisticated collision avoidance systems. Then of course every system will have its failures.

The definition of apparently means that something is more easily visible or easier to believe!
