MLB players union has been discussing a handful of potential neutral stadiums that could host baseball games to restart the 2020 season, New York Yankees pitcher Zack Britton said Wednesday.
Britton told MLB Network Radio that about five sites have been talked about in meetings about potentially getting the season back up and running. The season was suspended and Opening Day was delayed because of the coronavirus outbreak.
MLB PLAYERS UNION CONSIDERS PLAYING GAMES WITH NO FANS TO START SEASON, ANGELS PITCHER SAYS
I know there's sites that have already been discussed -- I'm not sure if I should even say this publicly -- but there's four or five sites that are up in the air that MLB and the union have slightly discussed that these are spots that have the resources, facilities, hotels that could host a major-league team if we get to that point, Britton said in the interview.

Yep! For decades they only cared about one thing.
Money!
The Mariners have been doing their best to depress attendance - why not get some advice from the experts?
I'm shaking my head in frustration..........
I think they should reopen camps on May 1st, but do not hold any exhibition games until June 1st when the season opens. Teams can still get into shape by holding intrasquad games. The public can attend but they must be assigned to every other row and three seats apart to maintain social distancing. No children allowed under ten.
If a player or club employee shows signs of the virus, they will be isolated and the rest of the players tested but the other 29 teams will not be affected because teams aren’t playing one another.
The final rosters will be 30 players but there will be no trades and no sending players up/down from the minors until the danger has passed.
If all goes well, the season begins and teams can get in 100 games before the playoffs begin. Teams in areas of high risk like New York and Seattle may be forced to begin the season on the road for the first 2-3 weeks.
If needed, games can be played without a large crowd. Unlike other sports, baseball is played with a lot of social distancing already.
Re: 42 - best post of the thread!
(Would engender a whole new perspective for terms like "beanball", "can of corn", and "tater".)
‘Wont be a season this year.’
might not...at least it’s not a bunch of greedy athletes causing it...
‘Uh, okay.’
bet you didn’t know that, did you...?
‘And play the schedule.’
without any attendance...? what the f*&# is the point...?
“Yuma has a wonderful stadium complex that used to be where the Padres did spring training.”
I did the public address for the Padres games in Yuma. The complex was built in 1970. The players complained all the time about nothing to do.
Okay, see you sports season starts!
‘I’m shaking my head in frustration..........’
total insanity; we’ve all become toddlers...hate to break it to them, but just waking up in the morning exposes them to possible dangers that could possibly harm them...
‘Okay, see you sports season starts!’
eh...?
Because TV exists, and is a much larger source of revenue. Also get some semblance of normal back. I don’t even like baseball and I’d watch every day if they turned it back on now.
‘I dont even like baseball and Id watch every day if they turned it back on now.’
baseball on TV only...? godalmighty, watching corona viruses grow would be more interesting...
It means I won’t be seeing you.
Well then you probably shouldn’t have clicked on the damn thread.
‘Well then you probably shouldnt have clicked on the damn thread.’
geez, lighten up, friend...
I’m light. You’re boring. Buh bye
