This is the funniest thing I have seen today. A few days ago someone here told me I needed to get a cat for my chipmunk problem

I'll say.

I'm still laughing at it with an evil chuckle

I wonder how that old man felt at the end. So sorry, I didn’t see that as funny at all. And yes, I do have a sense of humor.

To each his own, I suppose.

The chipmunk reminds me of Nancy Pelosi. The cat? Donald Trump of course.

Not funny at all. This was obviously a baby squirrel the man had rescued, maybe even bottle fed, and he was releasing it to live its life. Only to get killed by a cat who should never have been outside. I’d be very upset, too.

You and many serial killers have something in common. You both enjoy watching animals being tortured.

Reminds of that time they released sea otters after they had scrubbed the oil off of them and fattened them back up... only to see one or more of them snapped up by a killer whale lurking close to shore.

I feel sorry for that man, but I wish I had some cats around the neighborhood that would get the tree rats.

It’s obvious the squirrel was tamed, and the man was trying to put it out to live in the wild. Of course it had no idea how to survive on its own. If not for the cat, it would have starved or fallen prey to just about anything out there.

You can’t raise an animal as a pet and then expect it to be able to live in the wild. It doesn’t know what to do.

A outdoor cat will take care of the chipmunks but you need to be ready for two things. One is that your cat will bring you torn up but still live chipmunks. This is their way of trying to teach you to hunt. The second is that you should only let your cat out when you are with him. There are many dangers for our feline friends out there and many of them walk on two legs.

Yes, I don’t see it as funny in the least. It’s about as funny as watching an idiot drown a cat.

I am with the “LOL very funny” crowd. The law of unintended consequences strikes again. Cat owner doesn’t even see it coming.

For all the people crying about the video.

First, it is funny.

Second, nobody knows the squirrrels status. For all we know the man saved it from the cat.

Third and most importantly, if that was a tame squirrel, it was short for the world anyway. Wild squirrels have survival “street smarts”. A baby squirrel raised and then released later is going to be tame and unable to survive in the wild. Any number of predators were going to get it post haste and it probably lacked the survival skills to make it on its own even without a predator.

I guess suburban people think most of the squirrels in the world have no predators. It goes far beyond pet dogs and cats killing squirrels. Everything with teeth and claws that walks, crawls, or flies has squirrel on the menu.

I didn’t think it was even that funny, but was a twist ending.

Disgusting. Because of the foolish humans, not the animals that have no choices.

I have no objection to killing animals when they’re pests. Pests = any creature, furry, scaly, winged, whatever, that crosses the boundaries. Anything in my house. Anything in my attic, in my walls, on my wiring, flying in my air space.

If someone wants to feel good by taking in a wild animal, fostering it, and then doing it the dubious favor of releasing it to the heartless state of nature, they shouldn’t attach their own heart to it. Let go of it 100 percent or not at all. Nature doesn’t play along with our fancies.
