Our waterfowl season opened yesterday in California. Yes, we're still allowed to chase those fowl. I pulled a 2-dayer and just got home. I'm beat.

As for the hunting, I got a few. Nothing lights out but just getting out with the dog was well worth the effort.

Now, I'm ready for bed...LOL

Kudos, old man. I wouldn’t trade all my days for those spent in the field. It has been great around here for a couple of days. I’m happy to sit by the lake and let the fish tempt me. Some have jumped out of the water within a line’s cast. I know arrowheads are waiting for me on the other side of the lake. It’s a hard hike for an old man, but it’s always pleasure and sometimes treasure. I’ll be beat too, but wearing a smile.

I’m an offshore fishing guy. I can tell you that after being on the water all day, especially if it’s a little snotty is not what it used to be. Getting some fish is a lot more work and hurts way longer than it did 10 years ago.

Oh I remember seeing him on occasion. But by the time I was old enough our family was in Japan by the late 50s. Probably saw him in the early 60s is my best guess. But it was probably rerun type material.

Yeah his show was off the air by 57 and his movie career was over. He appeared on the Lennon Sisters Show in 69. He died in 80 at age 87.

I live in San Diego and i drive by Del Mar regularly. He and many other industry people retired there including Desi Arnez. There is a street named after durante there by the race track.
