Is it just me or has the internet experienced experience a big slowdown since yesterday afternoon?
I’m sure having problems. Up and down. Doesn’t appear to be my internal net (Centurylink screws things up once a year).
I’m using a brand new computer this morning. The obsolete computer it replaced is slower than two turtles pulling against one another. The speed of this one is a treat, to say the least.
Normal for me. Start the reload in another window and see what happens.
Pardon the tin foil but who is to say the big tech cabal cant tag you and throttle your bandwidth to the point of chocking you off the net.
We cut our Comcast cable 3 years ago just before the 4th of July and went to Comcast Business with a very fast internet for emails and stream the tv shows we want to see.
The Tech, who installed the new gear was very knowledgeable about our Cul de Sac and how on holidays like the 4th the system could barely handle the load.
He said the reason was the high # of college kids on the cul de sac, who came home to spend the summer and holidays with parents. They all got on line had 2-3 electronic devices going all day and most of the night.
I looked at him with a “like really” look. He told me to remember how slow the system was on Memorial day versus the new business internet.
He was right then and every holiday and summer since then.
D@mn auto-correct. Choke not chock.
FR is fine.
That’s all that matters to me, I stay away from Fecebook, Twatter, etc.
My kink is centurylinl.
Intermittent for me sometimes full speed (5-6Mbps), sometimes essentially 0, as measured by speedtest.net.
On my phone, in the Blue Ridge mountains, adequate cell service. No different than usual.
My cable provider (COX) just sent me an email that they have upped my internet speed, again. The email says it is now 150 Mbps.
I hate when they do that — mess with the speed. Now, I am lucky to get 10 Mbps. Last evening it hovered around 1.5 to 2.5 Mbps. I rebooted the router/modem last night and again this morning and restarted the computer. It helped somewhat.
It usually takes a couple of weeks for the mess to clear up and I get a ‘normal’ Mbps. Until then, I have to deal with molasses-level internet.
Ping.
It’s spreading.
No slowdown here.
Yup.
Who knew?
Interesting and informative. Running slow for me today.
Our dependence on the grid and tech will probably bite us big-time some day.
