Okay so I was driving home from work and was stewing over the whole all the hands up in the air for "We want universal healthcare for illegal aliens"....
And then I realized one of those jackass fools said that "Undocumented Migrants pay taxes too...' sort of jackass excuses they use as a flimsy ass justification for their utterly retarded positions....
They want both.
Sales taxes can exceed 100%.
[ They want both. ]
THEY WANT ALL!!!
GET IT RIGHT DAMMIT!
[ Sales taxes can exceed 100%. ]
That’s fine, I can’t wait for a soy boy latte to cost 30 bucks because their gardener Jose needs a kidney transplant!
I will make my own covfefe.
There’s not a single country that has engaged on a value-added-tax (VAT, sales tax) that has dumped income tax. Most European countries run a minimum of 15-percent on the VAT, and maintain their income tax bracket.
No way, I’m retiring this week. One of the things I was looking forward to is not having to fund the national government anymore. Don’t cheat me out of this!

Well the problem is the democrats and RINOs have a never-ending thirst for your lifeblood.
Yeah, lets see them get rid of the irs and abolish income and death/inheritance taxes first.
Otherwise we’re all gonna being paying both.
All at once would work for me.
The best way to have taxation at the the Federal level is a combination of moderate across the board tariffs and a tax on state government expenditures.
That lets the states handle all domestic taxation and rewards low tax/low spending states.
I think it was 18% when I was in Iceland.
A NRST is good, a tariff is better , both together are great. Kill the income tax!
I do not like national sales tax or VAT tax, because the politicians can jack up the taxes as much as they want without anyone knowing how much of the inflated prices they pay is actually going to the government to subsidize things like growing third world type barrios for illegals.
So you like the progressive income tax better? All consumption taxes are regressive, making them better.
The tax on social security retirement benefits is one of the most despicable things our government has done to the citizenry.
How do we let them get away with taxing our income twice?
Estate taxes are exactly the same type of obscenity. Were trained to hate the people with wealth so we wont make a big fuss about such things.
Well, someone's income at any rate.
As for how they get away with it: Nobody's repealed Sutton's Law.
An all encompassing 100% tax on everything wouldn’t be enough to suit them.
How much did you pay in taxes the last time you filled up your gas tank?
If you are like most people, you have no idea. Even as those gas taxes drive up the cost of gasoline way above its actual value, politicians stand on their soap boxes and denounce the greedy oil companies. And people fall for it and get mad at the oil companies because they have no clue how much of that pump price is actually tax.
And the same would happen with a national sales or VAT tax. All the consumer would see is that prices on everything are skyrocketing, without any visibility on what is really driving the prices up. And then politicians could grandstand against greedy big bread, big clothing, big electronics, etc., and much of the electorate will fall for it.
I prefer the idea of a flat tax across the board. That way, everyone can see how much they are paying. Plus, if it is across the board, poor people who currently have no reason to care about tax rates but who do fall for promises of “free” stuff paid by taxpayers would suddenly have some skin in the game; we could see some changes in voting patterns.
An Ex Dem is defending the income tax. Figures.
At 2.50/gallon the percentage of fed and state taxes comprises 11.5 percent of the price in MN.
That may not seem like much at first glance, but consider a 7.5% sales tax on something as simple as a doughnut would net the state darned near 10 cents (doughnuts used to be under a buck so not that long ago it would net the state about7 cents).
As soon as inflation kicks in taxes go up, prices on everything go up and buying power goes down. There are pols here in MN that want to make the state gas tax adjust for inflation and also add another 20 cents per gallon (this proposal would make taxes 28% of the cost of a gallon of gas at 2.50/gal and keep increasing when adjusted for inflation).
