There’s not a single country that has engaged on a value-added-tax (VAT, sales tax) that has dumped income tax. Most European countries run a minimum of 15-percent on the VAT, and maintain their income tax bracket.
I think it was 18% when I was in Iceland.

Yep, that is the case. No matter how they sell it, they are only doing it for one reason, and that is to INCREASE REVENUE, and they’re not about to remove their other sources.
But yes, there will be a hard push for a VAT if they win, and yes, part of the push will be an appeal to our side by saying “even Illegals will have to pay the VAT”, and yes, many of the ‘leaders’ on our side will say “daa, makes sense to me, daa”.
In Britain VAT is up to 21%, IIRC.
