Did the Democrats just say they want a national Sales Tax instead of a national Income Tax????

I know I’ve seen that information on gas pumps.

A VAT without a protective tariff is industrial suicide, it’s bad enough now on domestic industry as it is.

Income taxes punish making money.

Property taxes are just unconstitutional IMHO because they challenge my right to my property; How can you own something if it can be taken away if you don’t pay taxes on it?

A sales tax is the only truly fair tax system.

In Britain VAT is up to 21%, IIRC.

They want a Value Added Tax.

The VAT is a real killer. It taxes at every level of the goods from manufacturing to the end sale. A one dollar item becomes two dollars by the time it is sold.

A national Retail Tax is taxed at its final sale. A One Dollar Item is sold for $1.15 at the final sale if the tax is 15%, or whatever the rate is.

A sales tax is also the stupid tax, those who are stupid and wasteful with their money contribute the most to the government.... until they go broke

This is why libtards hate it

A VAT is a tax at EVERY LEVEL.... it is a sales tax + a tax on every step... this is why socialists love it

I just do not see what stops them at any time either raising the national tax higher, or also going back an implementing some form of income tax again, as they love to target enemies using weaponized taxes.

They jever colect enough taxes to cover spending, they always have rationalizations for raising taxes or creating them.

One year later, oops, we need an income tax again, the “rich” arent paying their fair share.

Unless they have language that says there can never be any other form of taxation on citizens while a national sales tax exists, we have no insurance against this.

Taxes are control.

We have fiat money that gets created out of thin air by fractional reserve lending.

There is no need to ever tax anyone when government and banks can create money only back by peoples good wishes, happy thoughts and unicorn farts.

Very true, we need an amendment that specifically outlaws all forms of taxation other than whatever we decide is the best.

I like Tariffs and a tax on state expenditures.

Inflation is a tax on every other dollar that exists.

It would actually be a pretty good way to tax except it is too easy and stealthy and politicians would run wild with it.

Property taxes are evil.

If a local government can’t exist without them (which is the defense I’ve heard for them) then they should just close down and rely on the county or the state.

At the state and local level I prefer sales taxes or an excise tax on manufacturers of specific items that is collected when they make the first sale not when they simply manufacture the item.
