I have had it. I just watched the latest episode of "The Orville".
But this latest episode, "Primal Urges" pissed me off to NO end.
Let's forget the overall subject of "gay" porn addiction by a completely non-human species, and the total delve into how that affected the ship and crew...and the clear homosexual overtones.
I cannot let pass the behavior of the sudo-Klingon character of Bortis who stood by and watched a woman say goodbye to her family...husband and son...of which there was a good 30-60 second scene...and our Uber Macho "hero" did NOTHING to save her.
His behavior...given his mission to save as many people as possible from a planet soon to be destroyed by an exploding star...was simply unconscionable. He should have grabbed her and pushed her onto the shuttle with her family and closed the door. A sacrifice? Possibly. But...if necessary...YES.
Yet he chose to save his own sorry ass. Not good.
Maybe I'm wrong. But I would not have hesitated to push her onto the shuttle and then close the doors. That was the mission. Save as many people as possible.
Yes...I know this is fiction and supposed comedy but really? Why would such a feel good, heroic moment be overlooked? Except...by those who JUST DON'T GET IT.
The writers of this show have exposed themselves to be far less than worthy of my viewership. I'm done with this type of BS.
I cannot believe...and I hope...that I am not the only one who noticed this and whose hackles rose while watching this.
Am I too old school? Am I a dinosaur? Are there no others who would have done...oh...I dunno...the RIGHT thing?
I'm sorry. But sometimes...I get pissed.
i really hope that they have burned through the weak stories of the season. The season opener was awful. This one was merely bad with some glimmers of mediocrity.
Focusing on one character (of ANY persuasion) two weeks in a row was a bad idea.
I dont know Orville or this McDonald guy.
Should we put you on suicide watch?
I think I saw the same thing if it was two grotesque male aliens kissing, not that theres anything wrong with that.
“Snowflake Sci-Fi”... without the sci-fi.
I’ll skip through episodes to laugh at the millenials’ (or whatever they’re called) viewpoint.
Fid enjoy sci-fi episodes in the first season.
“Crash” was another good show for laughing at ‘them kids’.
I no longer watch Hollywood produced shows for this very reason. Theyve been doing this for decades. Start off the season with some non-controversial shows, then hit you with some homo/trans theme.
It sounds like a stupid show. Nothing to get pissed about, just time to tune out. Let the show die, then you can savor revenge. 8>)
Ringworld was a great read. Found it in the late seventies...
So far season 2 is trying to check as many liberal boxes as possible.
Maybe you should find an alternative to the output of Hollywood Satanists.
I consume exclusively Japanese media now. I recommend Steins;Gate if you’re a sci-fi person.
It pretends to be a parody of Star Trek but really is nothing more than a complete rip off of Star Trek.
The sad thing is that it is actually a better Star Trek series than the ST Discovery drivel.
I would recommend The Expanse. Going through season two now. Really strong gritty space.
>>I always said Obama never advanced beyond 7.

CBS F***ing News (OCTOBER 8, 2010) - Obama Casts Republicans as Slurpee Sippers
...In each of 20 political speeches over the last two months, Mr. Obama has included a riff in which he portrays GOP leaders as sipping Slurpees while hard-working Democrats struggle to pull the economy out of a ditch.
“We’re down there. It’s hot. We were sweating. Bugs everywhere. We’re down there pushing, pushing, pushing on the car. Every once in a while we’d look up and see the Republicans standing there. They’re just standing there fanning themselves — sipping on a Slurpee.”
...The first time Mr. Obama used the line he equivocated about the type of beverage. He said the Republicans were “drinking on a Slurpee or something.” By the fourth speech, he had settled on Slurpee, and has stuck with it in every political speech since.
Why watch anything involving Seth MacFartlane?
“Go unto Babylon 5 good FRiend. It is classic and worth viewing again and again.”
It is my favorite and one of the best SciFi series ever made.
Don't apologize. Self generated editorials (vanities) are just as valid as any tripe excreted by MSM scribblers and bloggers.
I've never understood why Freepers think so little of their fellow members, that they actively discourage us from posting our own thoughts and analyses as stand alone threads.
I’ve had it both with Star Wars and Star Trek. They’ve turned into SJW projects. And if you don’t like them, the producers call you a racist, sexist, bigot homophobe.
Kirk would have saved them all and had sex with the female leader.
“...Watching Leftist programming...”
And that, right there, IS the problem.
I’ve gotten a lot more selective about what I watch these days. Tired of their garbage, for sure.
Hope all is well with you, D1 old buddy....
