Alan Alda announced Tuesday that he has Parkinson's disease.
Alda -- the Emmy award-winning actor who starred in the long-running series "M.A.S.H." as beloved combat doctor Hawkeye Pierce -- said in an interview on "CBS This Morning" that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2015.

Altho I sympathize, I gave up on him years and years ago when he helped turn MASH into a horribly anti-American and anti-Military show.
I wish him well now in with his current problems.

With all due respect as a great actor and I hope he gets well, he is part of the Hollywood Liberal elite...

That is unfortunate news. Watching episodes of M.A.S.H. gives good memories of our youth.

I certainly don’t care for his liberal views, but to his credit, he actually did serve as an Army officer in Korea (post armistice). I wish him well in dealing with his affliction.

I think his most recent major role was about 10 years ago in “The West Wing”. He played Senator Alvin Vinick, the GOP nominee for President.
Like many in Hollywood, he is a good actor but also political lobotomized.

82 years old. 36 when MASH(TV) launched!
I know he is a liberal, however, he isn’t an obnoxious liberal like his co-star Mike Farrel1.
All the best to him.

Alan Alda is still alive? Awesome! I preferred MASH before the sanctimonious BS in the later years, but it was pretty funny for the first couple of years. After Wayne Rogers left it went downhill big time.

There is no getting well with Parkinson’s; only delaying tactics.

This will give him a chance to campaign with Michael J. Fox for the need for aborted fetuses.
So sorry he has this. Always respected his acting.

It’s always enjoyable whenever the channel that shows MASH reruns in your locale goes back to the McLean Stevenson/Wayne Rogers/Larry Linville era of the show as it was that side splittingly much better than the ho hum (with the odd chuckle) adventures of the Jamie Farr, Harry Morgan, and William Christopher characters in the last two or three seasons. Then there were the really good old days of Ho John, Spearchucker, Ugly John, and even Private Boone, lol.

Lots of people have it. But what happened to Michael j Fox was a tragedy because most people get it in their 80’s.

I used to LOVE M*A*S*H, until the later shows turned so cynical and anti-American! It makes it hard to enjoy the show, knowing that it changed so much through the years. UGH!
But, I do wish him well through this medical problem.
