There is no getting well with Parkinson's; only delaying tactics.

Typically that is the result of the causative factor being unknown. Instead of simply following doctor's orders and downing the carbidopa-levodopa, we need our doctors to join the investigative process once more. For too many years that has been left to universities and pharmaceutical companies.

Pick a theory and test it. I suspect PD is the result of fungal infection wreaking havoc on the nervous system. I would test this theory by starting the Kaufmann diet. After six months of antifungal nutrition, I'd run a ten day course of an antifungal like fluconazole. And then I would share my results in an online PD support group and see what others think.

But that is just me taking an active role in treatment. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, but at least we try.
