To: Blue Jays

It’s always enjoyable whenever the channel that shows MASH reruns in your locale goes back to the McLean Stevenson/Wayne Rogers/Larry Linville era of the show as it was that side splittingly much better than the ho hum (with the odd chuckle) adventures of the Jamie Farr, Harry Morgan, and William Christopher characters in the last two or three seasons. Then there were the really good old days of Ho John, Spearchucker, Ugly John, and even Private Boone, lol.

Don’t forget Colonel Flagg, the paranoid Military Intelligence officer. He appeared in only six (or so) episodes - but his character was hysterical.

I think the first three or four seasons of M*A*S*H boast the funniest, most literate, scripts ever written for television, with the perfect cast to pull them off.

Those early years were genius comedy.
