You know the padlock privacy icon that used to be at the top of your Facebook page? Well, it's gone. No more option to close an account. Swell.

That’s all about fooling STOOOOOOPID investors into thinking that the bleeding of eyeballs from Facebook has stopped.

I think Im the only person who doesnt have a Facebook account.
You and me. I have a particular axe to grind with them over something that happened to a family member on FB years ago.
To: conservative98
Nope, never had one, never will.

It’s never deleted anyway. Just hidden from most people. FB and the prying eyes of the government can browse through any and all of your things any time they want.
Post it, and it’s theirs. Jokes are taken as intentions. Mistypings are taken as truth.

I opened one way back when just to see something on an FR thread. Never use it. Have tried many times over the years to delete the account to no avail. One would think if it were a legitimate company (rather than gov data mining), unused accounts would automatically be deleted. Maybe I should start posting pro-Trump everyday, it’ll finally get wiped with a cloth.

I deleted my short-lived account. I had it for 3 weeks. I joined in order to see a particular pet rescue organization. I'm NOT a joiner who would open up my life to others. I don't know why so many people are convinced they lead interesting lives...I sound like an old grump, I know. I believe friendships are formed and family ties are strengthened when people are face to face.

If you have an Android OS, if they do an update, it will be back...................... This past February I picked up a new Galaxy Note 8 and the first thing I did was remove the Facebook app. I have had at least four updates since that time and it is still gone.

My tablet OS updates and stuff in it comes back, so I put all the icons in a folder where I can’t see them................
But what I have read on other forums is that these software companies pay to have their apps embedded in the Android OS so that you can’t easily get rid of them.
If you do a reset, they will be back where they were when it was new.................

Yes. I know if I ever have to do a factory reset the phone will download everything and I’ll have to delete all the garbage I don’t want.
Thank goodness I haven’t had to ever do such a thing but now I have mentioned that I’ll have some kind of catastrophe tomorrow.

Well, I suspect if one were creative enough with the content one posted, one could motivate fakebook to delete it for one. And one to the nth power is a lot of ones.
