Guess I need to go to the candy store and stock up.
I am pretty sure those things will last indefinitely.

Good friend printed their labels for years until retiring. Revere still has Kelly’s on the beach for sorrows to be drowned in some of the world’s best fried clams.

Necco wafers make dandy little targets for 22lr or pellet guns. I love using food products as targets in the woods, since there’s no cleanup needed. For bigger guns or farther away old tortillas work great. And shooting up old produce is always fun.

My movie candy of choice when I was a kid growing up. I think that was just because my parents were cheap, but maybe I just loved how you could make a pack of Necco last all the way through a showing of Old Yeller, Mary Poppins, or a Batman serial. I always paced myself to be sure I still had some candy toward the end of the movie. I couldn’t do that with Sugar Babies, which just kind of disappeared.

Horrible candy. Haven’t had any since I was a child, and then only because it was all Grandma had in the candy dish when we went to visit.

Use to eat them when we were kids. But like most things that were available when I was young, aren’t now. I used to love Clove Lifesavers, but they don’t make them anymore. I liked Milkshake candy bars. They were great frozen too. Recently I got a craving for a Nestle’s Milk Chocolate bar, and when I couldn’t find them, I wrote the company. They only make them in miniature size, and they’re only available in packages with Crunch, Baby Ruth and Butterfinger miniatures. I’m not supposed to eat nuts, and I’m not crazy about peanut butter and chocolate together. Most of the stores today carry a majority of Mars candy products...very little variety of Nestle’s.

Get them while they’re still available at your local Cracker Barrel. Seems every one I’ve visited has had them.
They make great ‘roofing tiles’ for your Christmastime gingerbread house.

During the 1980s, Necco was a client of mine when they were still on Mass Ave in Cambridge. We sold them office equipment. They took up a whole city block. They had glass windows in the hallways so you could see what was going on inside the factory. You could smell the Canada Mints and the wafers throughout the buildings.

I love Neccos and I still buy them sometimes at Dollar Tree (the seemingly only chain that still sells Lavoris mouthwash too in the original cinnamon flavor).
Sometimes I’d segregate the brown Neccos and put them at the back of the roll - but that wasn’t because I hated them, it was because I loved them and wanted to have them last.
