Senate Republican leadership is calling for Alabama GOP candidate Roy Moore to step down as the party's nominee if new allegations of his inappropriate sexual conduct against a 14-year old girl in 1979 are true.
Both Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) released brief statements on Thursday, shortly after The Washington Post published the allegations.
"If these allegations are true, he must step aside," McConnell said.
Gardner's statement echoed that from McConnell.
“The allegations against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore are deeply troubling,” he said. “If these allegations are found to be true, Roy Moore must drop out of the Alabama special Senate election.”

Roy Moore has been a major public figure in Alabama for decades. And this conveniently comes out in the final few weeks during a senate campaign
I doubt it. If they had something like this it would have been used long ago. I suspect this is a pure smear by the left. Trouble is McWeasal would gladly see Moore go down and them lose a senate seat to keep any “riff-raff” out of the pure and pristine senate lol!
Moore should deny, call out the liars and when he wins fight McWeasal all the way.

If Moore can’t unequivocally refute the allegations - then yes, since sexually assaulting a minor child is a far more serious offense than sexually assaulting an adult woman.
And in our current climate, there is zero tolerance for sexual predators, no matter what side of the political divide they come from.
In a word, Moore should tell the truth or quit. This has nothing to do with politics but with simple human decency. That’s to be expected from every one, but especially from people in public life.
McCain sez Moore should step down now....so I guess that’s it.....
Not much for due process are you. I can accuse you of something, with no proof (that comes from you enemies!) And that should be all it takes to ruin your life? Are you that foolish?
Yet, if you are a woman in Hollywood (or former child actor) and you have evidence of rape or molestation you can count on the media and the Hollywood elites to threaten and intimidate you into silence. At least they do so until the evidence is so overwhelming that intimidation and cover ups won’t work. Better yet, even after the evidence is undeniable you have Little Gloria Allred aka Lisa Bloom digging up dirt on you to malign you.
But have no evidence and conveniently remember your horrible encounter with an evil Republican right before an election, then you are to be believed instantly.

So this woman kept quiet when he was a judge, even when the whole Ten Commandments issue was going on, nothing during the primary and she just remembered now? Who did she tell? Why did her mom let her go with him multiple times? Come on, this story is Swiss cheese
Suppose next it’s somebody saying YOU invited 14 year olds into your house and you lose your wife, family, house, everything. Sick of it. There were resources available for kids that were being molested in 1979 just like there are now.
