It has long ceased to be a secret that college campuses at all levels, from the highest ivy league centers down to community colleges, are centers of far far left wing indoctrination.
Why then is it that corporations keep requiring 4 year and above degrees - many times for jobs that clearly don't need such a thing? Most of the time, if you don't have that bachelor degree, you aren't even getting in the door. Don't bother. Don't send an email, don't call, do not show up at the office. Just don't.
Ok, Mr. Corporate toady boss. Let's examine your contradiction, your hypocrisy. How does it benefit you personally for me to be indoctrinated by a communist professor? How does this company benefit if every one of its new recruits hates the company? Are these idiot managers really that stupid, that they can't see all these protests, all these young indoctrinated students out there holding up signs about how the American Corporation is the root of all evil.
Meanwhile these managers watch these protests and they're picking out candidates for future employment. "That third guy on the right, holding up the red flag with the yellow emblem, calling big oil and big pharma the problem, find out who he is Frank. He'll make one heck of a regional manager!" Ok, that was a little sarcasm on my side, but seriously. Enough is enough. It's time for people to get real about what is really going on on university campuses these days, and cut the crap.
Who exactly came up with this suicidal policy structure anyways? I don't want to be an expert in communism to come work for your company!
To the reader of my post, go ahead. Right now. Go searching for a job, even if you don't need one, you'll see what I mean. Go to internships.com, or go to monster.com, or indeed.com, or dice.com. In job posting after job posting after job posting, you aren't getting a job until you have that 4 year degree communist indoctrination. Minimum. 6 years indoctrination preferred.
Send out all the resumes you want. They don't want to hear from you until you're redder than a tomato.
Just some random thoughts.
Most corporations are liberal cesspools, like finds like.
I’ve been in the software industry for over 30 years. A four year degree was required then and it’s required now for damn good reasons. YMMV.
I require a minimum of a 2 year associates degree in any beginning study.
Absolutely.
Probably because commies with a long term strategy wanted it that way, and normal people (the ones with real jobs) did nothing to stop them (such as buck shot).
Why then is it that corporations keep requiring 4 year and above degrees - many times for jobs that clearly don't need such a thing? Most of the time, if you don't have that bachelor degree, you aren't even getting in the door. Don't bother. Don't send an email, don't call, do not show up at the office. Just don't.
It's actually not a bad thing if you think about it. It ends up filtering wise people who want to be judged on their work (IOW conservatives and non-vegetables in general) out of the employee world and into self-employment, where they get exactly what they want (and deserve).
In fact, maybe the corporate guys are smarter than it seems at first glance. If an applicant has the bullshit tolerance to sit through a scenario unrelated to the ostensible purpose and laden with diatribes based on lies, then they'll probably be able to tolerate office politics. So a degree actually MAY select for the kind of employee they want, and one who won't go nuts working there.
In the very near future large corporations will recruit at the high school level, and run these students through a combination of real/virtual school, and internships and end up with MBA level employees at the end of 4 years.
>>blindness on this issue.
Blindness? You worked with any Jesuit/Marxist indoctrinated M.B.A.s lately?
M.ore
B.S.
A.bove
They know EXACTLY what kind of “culture” they’re selecting.
“we’re conservative { uhhhh } but progressive”
Just what you want to hear when interviewing for a job at a BANK, ehh?
It’s really not surprising once you look into the history:
http://duckduckgo.com/?q=Jesuit+Reductions+Beautiful+Communist
The collective reductions were operating using... a central bank. And the Jesuits - were Marxist before Karl was.
Should even the company janitors have a degree?
I disagree with the synopsis of this article. Having been an employer of 3 small companies, I would look at the resume and then ask some simple telling questions. Won’t go into them, but large companies with HR departments know what to look for, unless they’re bound by company rules to enforce quotas.
College degrees are required because aptitude tests have been judged to be discriminating. In effect, college degrees have become the defacto aptitude test.
Requiring a college degree was a reaction to the EEOC guidelines that begun a few decades ago: businesses needed a means of discriminating against bad workers, regardless of race, sex, etc., and at the time a college degree indicated that a person could read and write English sufficiently, analyze at least somewhat critically, and had the traits of showing up and fulfilling assignments. A bachelor’s degree no longer ensures any of the above to be the case, except in specific vocations such as BSN (nursing), or for certain colleges whose standards go against the progressive grain, such as Hillsdale College and Liberty University.
and on the flip side, even if you don’t need that degree for the job, you got join a union for many of these bluecollar big corporation or gov’t jobs.
it is indeed a commie, crony capitalist racket.
This is along the lines of what I was looking for.
So the government is in a win-win situation here, then.
The government gets to grant itself massive controls over how companies operate, and as a "backlash", corporations require collegiate indoctrination which in turn guarantees more government. The indoctrinated will be voting on election day.
I would like to know more about the ramifications of the EEOC, in this context, just the be sure.
It’s really just an easy way to filter down applications to manageable levels. Ever since the 2008 crash, if you put out a want ad, you are simply going to get too many applications to even read them all. You have to find ways to eliminate a lot of them from consideration quickly, but in a way that won’t get you sued.
I disagree. Most corporations are a joint autocracy (think Board of Directors &CEO) whose goal is to increase production and profits, whether private or public. You couldn't be more wrong about "liberal cesspools". Free enterprise corporations are the farthest thing from what you state.
Do some Googling about free enterprise.
“How does it benefit you personally for me to be indoctrinated by a communist professor?”
Partly because the employee will be expected to adhere to any and all PC-driven policies enforced by HR and management.
Also, because you’re expected to take your indoctrination into the workplace, so as to represent a model for the sake of multiculturalism and the demographics for “socially responsible” consumers and customers to identify with.
I have worked and then later owned corporations. Most are liberal cesspools. Target, Disney/ABC, Amazon, Starbucks, Price Waterhouse Cooper, Penzey’s are more pronounced examples but many smaller corps are just the same.
The goal has gotten away from traditional profits to virtue signaling
Don’t need to google it, lived it and retired at 35 with 6 figures because I got tired of the liberal crap.
...Collective.
What does the word "Corporate" mean? One body formed from many.
Hey, I like the honey that comes out of the hive too - but I can't deny the nature of the social model that's self-evident.
Is that social nature good, bad?
When the collective hierarchy puts a link on the corporate intraweb saying "here, you can vote for the train" - and then reprimands folks who ask "uhhh, who's going to pay for the infrastructure" because "that's political and we don't allow politics on the intraweb" --Then they clearly don't understand (or care about) what the 1st Amendment's purpose was: "Errors ceasing to be dangerous when it is permitted freely to CONTRADICT them".
