Just some random thoughts.
Most corporations are liberal cesspools, like finds like.
I require a minimum of a 2 year associates degree in any beginning study.
Absolutely.
Probably because commies with a long term strategy wanted it that way, and normal people (the ones with real jobs) did nothing to stop them (such as buck shot).
Why then is it that corporations keep requiring 4 year and above degrees - many times for jobs that clearly don't need such a thing? Most of the time, if you don't have that bachelor degree, you aren't even getting in the door. Don't bother. Don't send an email, don't call, do not show up at the office. Just don't.
It's actually not a bad thing if you think about it. It ends up filtering wise people who want to be judged on their work (IOW conservatives and non-vegetables in general) out of the employee world and into self-employment, where they get exactly what they want (and deserve).
In fact, maybe the corporate guys are smarter than it seems at first glance. If an applicant has the bullshit tolerance to sit through a scenario unrelated to the ostensible purpose and laden with diatribes based on lies, then they'll probably be able to tolerate office politics. So a degree actually MAY select for the kind of employee they want, and one who won't go nuts working there.
>>blindness on this issue.
Blindness? You worked with any Jesuit/Marxist indoctrinated M.B.A.s lately?
M.ore
B.S.
A.bove
They know EXACTLY what kind of “culture” they’re selecting.
“we’re conservative { uhhhh } but progressive”
Just what you want to hear when interviewing for a job at a BANK, ehh?
It’s really not surprising once you look into the history:

The collective reductions were operating using... a central bank. And the Jesuits - were Marxist before Karl was.
I disagree with the synopsis of this article. Having been an employer of 3 small companies, I would look at the resume and then ask some simple telling questions. Won’t go into them, but large companies with HR departments know what to look for, unless they’re bound by company rules to enforce quotas.
College degrees are required because aptitude tests have been judged to be discriminating. In effect, college degrees have become the defacto aptitude test.
Requiring a college degree was a reaction to the EEOC guidelines that begun a few decades ago: businesses needed a means of discriminating against bad workers, regardless of race, sex, etc., and at the time a college degree indicated that a person could read and write English sufficiently, analyze at least somewhat critically, and had the traits of showing up and fulfilling assignments. A bachelor’s degree no longer ensures any of the above to be the case, except in specific vocations such as BSN (nursing), or for certain colleges whose standards go against the progressive grain, such as Hillsdale College and Liberty University.
and on the flip side, even if you don’t need that degree for the job, you got join a union for many of these bluecollar big corporation or gov’t jobs.
it is indeed a commie, crony capitalist racket.
It’s really just an easy way to filter down applications to manageable levels. Ever since the 2008 crash, if you put out a want ad, you are simply going to get too many applications to even read them all. You have to find ways to eliminate a lot of them from consideration quickly, but in a way that won’t get you sued.
“How does it benefit you personally for me to be indoctrinated by a communist professor?”
Partly because the employee will be expected to adhere to any and all PC-driven policies enforced by HR and management.
Also, because you’re expected to take your indoctrination into the workplace, so as to represent a model for the sake of multiculturalism and the demographics for “socially responsible” consumers and customers to identify with.
I agree. Mine does. And they are reaping the whirlwind, because a large majority of the newly hired snowflakes confirm the stereotype.
It just “The Old Boy Network” that has been around for ages.
They really just don’t want 18 year olds.
No, it is deliberately done to pursue federal contracts. If you work for a big company that seeks federal contracts, it knows that the feds give preference for companies that meet various “diversity” metrics. Exceed those diversity metrics like going to extra efforts to recruit homosexuals and paying for transgenders’ medical costs, and you get extra preference for federal contracts.
It is cheaper to hire diversity trainers and womensðnic studies grads to do federal paperwork on demographics of the workforce and track various training numbers than build a cheaper product, make a better jet, deliver better service.
Because not every college is communist indoctrination and the ones that are pretend they aren’t. We live in a pretend world.
Instapundit has a theory that since corporations can no longer use test scores, companies then have a college degree requirement to screen out applicants. Courts have ruled that tests are racist when blacks don’t pass.
Corporate bosses went through college. Therefore, everyone must go through college too. Simple as that.
I agree! A four year degree is required for most job postings where you can actually earn a living by..
And no, twenty years ago, these same jobs had no such requirements.
I’ve heard folks say, just take some classes... get a degree!
At 54, I’d be 58 years old with a MOUNTAIN of college debt. And degree or no degree, who wants to hire a 58 yr old for a real job these days?
Point of the article is right though - why do these companies want indoctrinated snowflakes???
