IRS Chief: “Trump is a liar, we audited him because his taxes are highly suspicious” [IRS Lies]
Greenville Gazette ^ | March 2, 2016 | Juan Wilder

Posted on 05/16/2016 9:03:14 AM PDT by Roos_Girl

“We don’t care who you are,” stated Koskinen, “Whether you go to church, or don’t go to church.” Koskinen explained audits occur when something pops up in your tax returns they find suspicious. It’s basically all about the numbers. Party or religious affiliation is not part of any IRS audit red flag, according to Koskinen.

I don't want that bastard Koskinen impeached, I want him in an orange jumpsuit and not at a “Club Fed” prison, but at a real prison.

I understand your point. I don’t feel bad for expecting people to read the article and watch the, supposedly, supporting video and figuring out what they should already know; you can’t blindly trust 1. just the title, 2. journalists.

Isn’t it illegal for an IRS employee to publicly divulge an individual’s tax details?

Laws? The IRS is not subject to no stinkin' laws!

I haven’t seen any comments here that were attacks on Trump. Most people, who you can tell haven’t read the article, are commenting on the untrustworthiness of Koskinen.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Nobody from the IRS should be stating ANYTHING about ANYONE’S tax return. It is private information, including if there was something “suspicious” - it should never be stated publicly. This person is being a hypocrite, claiming they don’t target people while at the same time divulging information inappropriately. The irony...

I know a couple of Silicon Valley millionaires - they live quite lives, give back to the community and are not very politically active. Both get audited at least every other year. My FIL was a very successful contractor he used to get audited every year, the IRS usually owed him $$$$.

That's not what I meant. Your un-qualified posting made it appear that the IRS Chief was attacking Trump.

Koskinen is a liar, and I use that term in the nicest way. But, he lied to Congress. He didn't attack Trump in his interview, other than to defend the IRS audit criteria.

He did make one error, though... it is possible to be randomly selected for an audit, with nothing unusual on your return.

I saw the date, the headline, wondered if there was an agenda, so I asked.

You answered rationally, I implied all was good.

No need to get testy or weird about it.

LOL, you would think they would get a clue. :-)

I discussed my audit above, but I'll add one detail: I intentionally didn't claim a tax credit because it was very small and it would have incurred more professional fees to dig up the details that were required.

The IRS agent noticed it, and asked. After accepting the explanation, he didn't amend my return. :-(

No no, not testy, just observing. You were one of two people who had similar comments. I just found it interesting. It doesn’t help that I am mobile and being lazy about my typing.

Yes, you would think they would catch on. In his den is a framed .gov refund check from 1992 in the amount of $0.99.

Agreed. I would say he lied in the interview also though in stating that religious and/or political belief is not a criteria for audit. We already know of political targets within the Tea Party, etc.

I hope the IRS just makes our next president angrier and angrier with them before he gets into office.

Yes, we do know!

Audit for 5 years and it ended when Bush was elected.

Results:

pay 3.85
refund 25.00
pay 11.00
under 1.00 waived
refund 80.50

Now, you've upgraded me from LOL to ROFLMAO.

I'd do the same thing.

And exactly what is “our enemy” doing that we don’t know about? This article provides no shocking revelations or secrets. It is just another smear against Trump and his taxes. Hillary and Romney have demanded Trump release his tax returns. So what?
