According to Fox News' chief intelligence correspondent Catherine Herridge, her contacts in the FBI and DOJ are "super pissed off" at what White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said about Hillary Clinton's email problems Friday. "That's not something I'm worried about," he told reporters at the daily briefing.
Earnest threw cold water on predictions that Hillary Clinton will face a Justice Department indictment for mishandling classified information on her private and unsecure email server while secretary of State..
"That will be a decision that will be made by the Department of Justice," he said. "Some officials have said she is not the target of the investigation and it does not seem to be the direction in which it is trending." Pressed again on whether he believed Clinton could get indicted, Earnest said firmly: "It doesn't seem to be headed in that direction."
Catherine Herridge told Greta Van Susteren on Fox News Friday evening that her sources in the FBI and Justice Department have "their backs up" over Earnest's comments.
"That statement by Josh Earnest has got the back up of our contacts at the FBI and Justice Department for two reasons... They are super pissed off - to use a technical term. Number one, Josh Earnest has absolutely no clearance or visibility in the FBI investigation. Number two, they say it really seems part of a troubling pattern from the White House because the president earlier said he did not see any national security implications to the Clinton emails and then we found out he had never been briefed." Herridge said that by "weighing in and leaving the public with an impression that is not backed up by the evidence in the case," the White House was making the situation even more political than it needed to be.
When she mentioned the "troubling pattern from the White House," Herridge was referring to the October 60 Minutes interview in which the president called Clinton's use of a private server "a mistake," but said it had not endangered national security. He said the issue was being "ginned up" into an attack by Republicans for political reasons.
More entertainment for the masses. A pity nothing will come of it.
Time for those in high places to show credibility and honor towards the USA and not PC Liberal Crap
I am still curious who, if not HRC, is the target of the investigation?
FBI pissed-offness can’t indict anyone.
The DOJ and FBI is getting ready to give Hillary the glaring of a lifetime. She had better be ready, they are dead serious this time. Maybe even a little fist shaking will be involved.
“I am still curious who, if not HRC, is the target of the investigation?”
Some low-level patsy who has agreed to take the rap for Hillary.
I have a feeling the WH is saying these things to get those who are investigating so agitated they quit and in the end, nothing will happen.
And a memo of deep concern.
Josh Earnest is as lame as they come in bambam’s administration.
Isn’t it time to arrest the Chief Magistrate for the High Crimes of Treachery and Surrender in the Face of The Enemy?
Just who in this country ISN”T “super pissed off at the White House”? There has got to be one hell of a long line.
That job is a launch pad for big $$$ in crony capitalism.
As you can see with Bobby Gibbs (EVP McDonalds) and Jay Carney (SVP Amazon).
I posted this on another thread about this same thing -
Until we see differently the FBI deserves the benefit of the doubt. If their desire was to cover this up why are they assigning more agents to the investigation and why did they open a second investigation into public corruption or âpay to playâ?
Many people seem to be missing the obvious conclusion that you do not assign more investigators to an investigation that is going nowhere. The FBI is an agency who has historically and statutorily protected our nations secrets - it is one of their primary missions and they take it very seriously. I would be shocked if they do not recommend a long list of charges related to this investigation.
I am very interested in the second corruption investigation - that one seems far more complicated, but I would assume they have all the foundation emails and I am sure they have pulled many more emails off the state servers to see which ones correspond to donations at the Clinton foundation. That investigation would probably involve lots of Grand Jury activity (testimony/interviews and documents) and it would take far more time.
They would have to establish that âentity Aâ wanted something favorable from the State Dept and that favorable treatment corresponded to a donation to the Clinton foundation so you would likely have the left-hand (Clinton server) talking with âentity Aâ and at some point that would cross to the right-hand (State server) in the form of directives and favorable action. The go-between would obviously be Hillaryâs inner circle. This would then be backed up by financial records of donations and likely subpoenaed emails within âentity A.â This investigation would be very complex and could take some time. The alleged assignment of many more agents is not indicative of an investigation going nowhere and public corruption is another primary mission of the FBI.
They wonât control charging, but I will be shocked if they donât recommend charges for the classified material, that one seems to be obvious. The second investigation is far more complex. I donât believe the politics will be within the FBI as so many seem to believe - it will be with those who actually charge or not charge (Attorney General). One has to think among the âpay to playâ possibilities that there will be a few that are obvious. There has been speculation for years about favorable treatment from State matching donations to the Clinton foundation.
Just my personal speculation and thoughts.
Will he ask them to cover up all the mussie icons as he demanded Georgetown University to cover up Christian icons before he gave a speech there?
Obama is the firewall here. Obama/Jarrett!
Next week they will be super-duper pissed off. *Yawn*
Huma
Presactly
Wrong. The FBI is “super afraid” of Clinton et al.
They’ll keep up this banter until November ... always on the verge of doing something .. but not quite yet.
