Sad doggieping.
:sigh:
Humans!
Jill asked the 9 year-old pupâs owner why he was leaving him behind. He said that âheâs not as active as he used to be.â No one knows what this lovable boyâs name really is because his owner left before Jill could get it.
The shelter has renamed him Tyson and his story is already on its way to a happy ending.
After only two days, and thousands of Facebook views, Tyson was taken in by a foster family. After getting him to the vet, they discovered that the Dobie has a spinal condition and will need extensive medical care.
No way can I watch this..,in fact, I need to forget that I even read about it.
Heartbreaking.
He was discovered to have a spinal condition, you cretin. You could've paid to have him put down before you abandoned him and displayed your inhumanity before the entire world.
Loyalty is supposed to be a two way street.Dumping the dog at the shelter because”he’s not as active as he used to be”is reprehensible.
Same kind of person who can’t wait to put their parents in a home.
Society is getting worse and I’m sick of the way things are trending.
Sounds like hip displasia.
It’s a shame how many congenital conditions are bred into dog breeds.
I wish dogs could DUMP their humans in garbage cans when they find them NOT useful...or abusive.
“Crying”? It doesn’t seem like the dog cared for the human one bit — I didn’t hear a peep out of him when he took off. I expected to see a distraught animal.
I think the guy said it was his son’s dog, so maybe he was like a stranger to the dog. Pretty bad that his son didn’t drop him off or even come to the shelter.
Pretty crappy people to abandon a nine year old dog like that, but they probably knew they were facing extraordinary vet bills for the spinal problem. Maybe they simply couldn’t afford the bills.
Hip dysplasia is common to a lot of large breeds.
My German Shepherd’s gene testing was positive for it.
So its not like I’m not prepared for it.
Sometimes you just can’t afford to give your dog the quality of life he deserves.
And you have to do the right thing even if it leaves both of you heartbroken.
Nine years is old for a Doberman. They don’t normally live all that long.
The owner probably didn’t have the money for medical expenses.
I’m looking at my Tervuren curled up at my feet. He’s going on 12, and nowhere near as active as he used to be, although he can still get a little frisky at times. I would live under a bridge and wipe my butt with leaves before I would ever abandon him.
Our 8 year old dobie is a member of our family. I would not do that to her.
Unable to watch- dealing with my 15 y/o Bichon mix rescue. He is blind and has congestive heart failure. I would never abandon an animal.
One of my friends has an animal intervention program at the Orange County Animal Shelter. They help people who want to keep their pets but cannot due to monetary issues. Wished the owners would have taken the dog there.
They don't have overnight people there but there is the emergency clinic next door so they transferred her there and put her in their oxygen chamber and started her on Lasix and heart medication,(Pimdoendain) and Viagra (which was first invented for the heart) When I went to see her this morning she is doing so much better and if when they wean her off the oxygen her levels stay up I will get to bring her home.
I can understand in a way why people HAVE to surrender an older dog that is having health problems. So far this has cost me $1300 and that does not include what today will cost. The Viagra was $196 for 10 pills that I had to rush to the pharmacy to get for them, because they don't have it at the clinic. I told her this morning I hope they can find something else to help her because I can't afford that expense to continue. I love my little Misty terribly but there will come a time when we will no longer to be able to keep her going. Today isn't that day though. Thank God.
I just hugged my old dog.
People surrender animals all the time. Be happy there are shelters for this sort of thing versus just euthanasia otherwise.
