"Healthy obese adults show a greater risk for developing cardiovascular disease than healthy normal-weight adults, although this risk is not as great as for the unhealthy obese. Healthy obesity is only a state of relative health - it's just less unhealthy than the worst-case scenario. And as we now see, healthy obese adults tend to become unhealthy obese over time, providing further evidence against the idea that obesity can be healthy," said Bell.

I often wonder why wives sometimes go from prettily slim before marriage and become portly after marriage and a couple kids.
and ya know, the physically fit, the thin, the healthy-—— all experience declining health over time......
It’s kind of a given, it’s all a slide into that grave,
may as wall enjoy the trip.
make that “well enjoy the trip”....
Gee I have no idea why having kids would cause you to become less then svelte.
I mean all it does is change your bone structure, widen your pelvis, stress your body and stretch your skin.
I suspect their very definition of “healthy” is that a person is of normal weight, eats a diet like theirs, and exercises like they do. So by definition, if someone is overweight, eats a diet of their liking, and exercises very little, they are “unhealthy”, even if they are 100 years old and have no unusual diseases or other disabilities.
I remember a cardiologist of normal weight, who ate a strict health food diet, exercised a lot, looked like death warmed over and had severe health problems. He bragged repeatedly that he had a medical degree from Harvard college.
Eventually, he annoyed me enough so that I said, about his Harvard degree, that “I won’t hold that against you. You might still be an adequate doctor.”
Heck. Compared with that guy — I’m Tarzan!
