Having a beard makes you more employable (as long as youre not a woman, probably).
One mans quest to find out which variables would affect his ability to get a job has uncovered the surprising fact that when he was made older-looking by some facial hair, he received more replies.
Javier Sanz was trying to find work on an online marketplace called oDesk, a platform that allows jobseekers to find work they can do from home.
Javi found that prospective employers replied to 12 per cent of his applications when he was facial hair-free, but when a beard was added to his photo, his response rate jumped to 35 per cent.
He explained: I look younger than my age. It wont be the first time if Im being asked me for my ID before buying some beers. Im 26 years old but but my face says Im a teenager, dont hire me cause Im irresponsibely young.
So, I looked for a way of giving a first responsible, image of guy who is going to get-work-done impression. Thanks we are in the Internet, and I didnt need any surgery. Just a fake beard with Photoshop.
More information, as well as lots of tips for jobseekers can be found on Javis blog.
It worked for Obama!
buh dum cha!
"We're employed."
More likely, he looked more Hispanic with the beard, and benefited from Affirmative Action mindset
And it’s working for Tom Cruise.
If you mean Moochelle Obama
Having a beard could help you when applying for a job on a college campus or for the government ... it makes you look more like Karl Marx. :)
They forgot the Porn’stache.
I’ve had a beard for over 50 years, if I had a dollar for every hour I didn’t waste scraping my face I could buy another nice camera!
Beard = Having to run the clippers about once every 2-3 weeks, no blood loss involved.
Beard wins!
Nuff said :)
Looking older when you’re 26 is good. But that ends.
ummmm
Got a female version of this?
Isn’t that just the same thing as the “cop stache”?
Hmmm I don’t think it works that way for the ladies.
Not facial hair, talking about down there...
Or do you mean any pattern is ok?
LOL!
