About 80 years or so ago a French Doctor (MD) cured polio with 2500 mg doses of Magnesium Chloride given orally in divided doses every 4 hours...48 hours of this therapuetic dose did the job...with no paralysis, no need for iron lungs. He and another doctor used this therapy successfully many times with many patients...but the medical community didn’t want to know.

It’s absolutely known by now that magnesium is necessary for the proper absorption and utilization of calcium. I read an abstract the other day where mice were intentionally fed diets that caused calcification of the arteries in/around the heart. They then amped up the amount of magnesium in the diet, and the calcifications faded away.
It’s also well known that not enough magnesium will often lead to high blood pressure, and one of the first things they will give to you if you go to the hospital and have life threatening blood pressure is a huge dose of magnesium.
Calcium makes the muscles contract, magnesium makes them relax.
Just last weekend I heard about magnesium deficiency from a local doc on a radio show. The trick seems to be the matter of absorption. He suggested chelated and said others say take with calcium (I think?)
I personally like the vinegar and Milk of Magnesia approach. When you first mux them, it is cloudy. As you continue to stir it, (assuming you used distilled vinegar), it will soon become totally clear.
Then, you basically have ionic magnesium, and I have never had the “normal” reaction to too much magnesium.

I take Milk of Magnesia about once a month just for the magnesium
There was a recording going around a few years back called “Dead Doctors Don’t Lie” that had a lot of quite interesting information by a medical doctor who was ALSO a veterinarian.
He pointed out that they give cows and other livestock many vitamins and minerals to keep them healthy because they are a PRODUCT -and if they get sick, they lose money.
So he compared preventative measures for animals to things that were similar in humans and started taking vitamins and minerals on a prevatative basis, similar to how they do for livestock.
For example, Magnesium is regularly given to cows and I thought it had somethign to do with digestion and preventing ulcers and stuff but I may be wrong- and so he started taking magnesium (Milk of Magnesia) and his problems cleared up... there were other good examples.
So... it seemed like good advice, but many medical doctors panned it (i can’t imagine what they found fault with)

so does it act as a diuretic?
Also.. doesn't mixing it with Vinegar cause the acid to change or bond with the magnesium so that it does not have the same effect internally? (Maybe it needs to bond with something inside your body)
Magnesium is a weak calcium channel blocker. Calcium and Mg use the same channel and compete for absorption. I do not take them together. If you must take both, take calcium in the a.m., magnesium in p.m.
