Search for God Particle is nearly over, as CERN prepares to announce findings
Telegraph UK ^ | December 1, 2011 | Nick Collins

The Higgs boson is a theoretical particle which scientists believe gives mass to everything in the universe, and is a key component of the Standard Model of physics. While finding it in its expected form would confirm common theories on how atoms are put together, identifying a number of Higgs bosons with different masses or disproving the particle entirely would overturn many assumptions of modern physics.

Reading the article, it appears that they aren’t going to announce whether it exists. They are just going to announce the latest findings. From what I’ve read elsewhere, the findings have not been particularly fruitful. They have found “hints” of the Higgs, but nothing more. In other words, they found a slight hiccup in the energy curve at particular energy levels, but no smoking gun.

With all of the whores in the scientific world, would I believe them regardless of WHAT they say? Since most of them have an axe to grind; and since their biggest axe is to “DISPROVE” God, I probably wouldn’t believe them without some corroborating input from someone I trust, such as ICR.

What? You Didn’t even mention General Spinikopita, nor his two sons Tiropita and Calamata, who triumphed in the Epic Battle for Kusa Meshi in the Valley of Hummos!

The Higgs Boson is actually a key component of Rossi's e-cat.

Sssshhhhhhhh.

The Privileged Planet

I believe God made the universe too. And that relativistically, 14.5 billion years=6500 years by stretching just a bit.

Though Earth´s stratigraphy is a bit of a problem for young Earth interpretations as it doesn´t unify well with the other physical sciences.

From what I have heard, they didn’t find what they were looking for. What they did find just makes them more confused.

I don't believe they found anything significant. Otherwise, there would have been rumors floating around about it before now. They'll be trying to put the best face possible on things in order to justify the expense of building the supercollider.

Don’t worry they will discover that they are missing another particle....

Presenting the Anyon, need a more powerful particle accelerator to find it.

The Higgs wasn’t found yet because it isn’t there to be found. The mass range that it would “have to” fall into turns out to not have the Higgs. This was found out before the LHC fired up. Soooo, we’ll see something major about the Higgs, but coverage will be soft. The ad-hoc bailing out of the Standard Theory when neutrinos were found to have mass was a little disconcerting for many. :’)
