I have a new computer with Windows 7, Office/Outlook 2010 and I was using IE8. Everything hums along just as I like it. This morning I was prompted to "upgrade" to IE9 so I accepted the "upgrade" and I installed Internet Explorer 9. WHAT A STUPID MOVE THAT WAS! It completely sucks and I would strongly advise against accepting the "upgrade", installing Internet Explored 9!
How bad is it? IE9 is so bad it makes Windows 2000 Addition and Vista look good!

what’s bad about it? I haven’t used IE in years, but I am curious.
To: WellyP
That’s why I use Firefox.

That was my brief experience with IE7. I tried it and didn’t like it at all.
I use an IE-based tabbed browser for FR. I have some add-ons for editing, etc., that are not compatible with IE versions greater than 6.
I use Firefox general webbing and QTWeb for most video websites.
I recently started using a version of Chrome, as it will run some of the newer videos that the older IE, FF and QT can’t seem to run.

I’ve found it solid and fast.
But I prefer Firefox for the add-ons.

Bill Gates is Satan.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

IE is the worst POS browser.
It takes 4 ever to load and is like surfing in a bog or driving through sand.
Ugh!

Thanks for giving specifics about what is wrong with the browser, instead of just generalities and hyperbole.

Switched from IE to Google Chrome and have never looked back. It imported all of my saved stuff and works like a champ.

It works fine for me. Much faster loading, and I’d say more stable, than earlier versions. Some of the features have been moved around on the toolbars, so it takes a little getting used to. But it’s worthwhile doing that, I think, since the toolbars now take less space away from the content window.

Some people might laugh but I can still remember using Internet Explorer 1.0 back in the mid-1990s. That was back when Netscape Navigator was the dominant browser.
Those were good days. I remember a lot of people back then saying that the Internet was just a fad and that it would never catch on.

I upgraded and found IE9 to be fast both in startup and rendering. It can be modified to look just like 8 by turning on the various tool bars. The pin feature is very useful . I used to get Explorer stopped working messages in 8, they are almost non existent since I upgraded to 9.

Sorry to hear you had a hard time with IE9.
I still have a number of WinXP boxes so I have to stick with IE8 on those, and it's not worth having some IE8 and some IE9 (the Win7 boxes). Truth to tell, I've been overall pleased with IE8 (for those times when I use IE; FF3 is the default browser on most of my machines) although it's hardly a speed demon.
