Exploding the “That Wasn’t A Missile” Myth

What appeared to be a missile rose from below the horizon, streaking into the sky off of California leaving a condensation trail identical to the kind that have been filmed being left by a ground-or-sea-to-air launch of a Minuteman missile or ICBM.
First, the Government was inexplicably mum on the topic. Next came a series of sometimes contradictory explanations. Now, days after the event, the finally agreed-upon explanation hits every news station all at once. “It’s the con-trail of a jet returning from across the Pacific.”
There are two glaring problems with this obviously false “explanation.”
First, the shape and density of the con-trail.
A missile launch would be more dense and wide at its base, just as we see in the images we’ve been shown. A jet’s con-trail would be thinner and smaller the further away as it trailed off toward the horizon. We see the opposite in the availale video footage.
Second, the lighting.
In the video footage, we see stratus clouds out over the ocean behind the rising missile. The setting sun is shining on, and illuminating, the bottom of those clouds. On the con-trail, however, the illumination from the sun appears on the right-hand-edge; just as it would if this were a launching missile’s vertically rising con-trail. There is no illumination of the underside of the “jet’s horizontally oriented con-trail” because it is not a jet’s con-trail, it is a vertically-oriented missile’s launch contrail with the sun lighting up the side away from us. Very obviously so.
The Government must think we are at least as stupid as they are if they think this lame explanation is going to “fly.”

There should have been many pilots and ship captains reporting this surprise large missile launch.
Many of them would certainly have filmed or photographed it.
Many would have reported it to authorities.

I agree. This is kinda fun though. It is like arguing with the liberal whack jobs over on Harmony-central. I like a good argument. Sometimes FR can get boring when everyone agrees. This one is fun.
But it is also getting old. I’m embarrassed for Rush Limbaugh if he really did say that there is compelling evidence it is a missile. I thought he had better investigators than that.
I’m not exactly sure what the government is supposed to be hiding here. They launch missiles all the time without lying about them.
Seems to me that if they were hiding something, they could have simply said it was our launch.
Sounds to me like a wet blanket may be necessary.

what about that plane that crashed over jamaica bay in NY not long after 9/11? Didn’t they say it was jet wash that tore the tail off of it or something like that? crazy stuff.
It’s much, much worse than that.
Consider, we have a plethora of satelites and radar installations designed for this EXACT reason - and no one saw a thing.
There were not F-16’s scrambled, nor was there a High Alert in the Military. Business on Vandenberg continued as normal.
We had one idiot say that this may have been a show of force, to show China that we can launch a missle 35 miles from our shore. As if China hasn’t known of this capabilityf or the past 40 years.
Or ... maybe China did the launch, in a show of force to tell Jughead to get his butt back in-line. That if China wants to play hard-ball; they can get within 30 miles of teh California coast and launch an ICBM and we would not only be unaware of it; we wouldn’t even know about it until a city was a radio-active pile of ash.
When you are dealing with a Libtard like Jughead; the world knows that they can do this, and he will quickly curtsie, bow, lick a boot and appologize on behalf of the charred victims that somehow or another, we had this coming.
It either would cause panic, make us question those in authority, or show us what we already know; Obama has lost complete control of everything.

You bring up a good point. I just flew over that area of the ocean a few months ago. The number of boats out there is fairly impressive.
Your post reminds me of why one woman said Anita Hill was lying: Where are the other women? No man does this to just one woman.
Likewise, with this one distant video should be a lot of people that were a LOT closer. But nothing...
It just adds to the body of evidence for the airplane contrail. I cannot believe this is even still being debated, frankly. I say that as one that originally believed it was a missile launch.

Most likely there are satellite data available of this event.
TWA Flight 800 was not shot out of the sky.
And this was not a missle launch. The reason they were all “clueless” was the same reason the Bush white house sounded so clueless when he was first confronted with the fake story about his national guard service — you can’t know a negative.
So, there was no missle, and the government didn’t know anything about the missle that wasn’t launched, and couldn’t detect any indication of the missle the wasn’t launched, and had no independent verification from radar or satellites about the missle that wasn’t launched.
But in a little while, they were able to figure out that the reported odd occurence wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, it was a flight they knew all about, and which they simply assumed wouldn’t be what people were talking about, since the flight was eastbound from honolulu, and was not a westbound ICBM launched from catalina.
It’s a common contrail. The object is traveling toward you, not away from you, and since the contrail has a long persistence, it looks like it emanates from the horizon, thus the illusion that it is a missile traveling away from you.
Seems pretty clear to me.
