Alec Baldwin, the US actor, has said he has lost interest in acting and considers his film career a failure.
"I consider my entire movie career a complete failure," he told the magazine. "The goal of moviemaking is to star in a film where your performance drives the film, and the film is either a soaring critical or commercial success, and I never had that."
Baldwin has expressed interest in politics in the past but did not say in the interview what he intended to do if he quit acting.

I thought he did a great job in “The Departed”. A lot better than Matt Dameon who is totally overrated.
I thought he was good in Team America.
That could be why. Maybe his dreams of running for some govt. position have now been ruined by Obama.
I’ve never seen it. I hope that he has repaired his relationship with his daughter.
maybe he wishes that he had gotten to play Harvey Milk, instead of sean (spiccoli) penn.
I liked him in “The Edge” when he fell in a pit and died. He is at his best when he plays shiftless, morally-repugnant filth. Don’t know why.
By all accounts, he has a fine relationship with his daughter. Ya know...there were a few times I think my parents said things to me that were positively awful and I said a few wretched things back. But they loved and adored me and I, them. I’d hate to be defined by the worst thing I ever said. People do things that they regret. I think he regretted that.
Yah. A career that goes from “Hunt For Red October,” then spirals down to “Cat In The Hat.” I call it a failure, too.
I think you are right, I’m sure he regretted it. Is he married again?
Nah. I hope he runs for office...I’d love to see him debate people who really know what they’re talking about. That would be really funny. I think that’s what he’s setting us up for.
Horrible human being...but his acting is timeless in movies like The Departed, The Cooler, The Edge, Ghosts of Mississippi, The Juror, Glengarry Glen Ross, Miami Blues, Hunt for Red October, Malice, Working Girl, Talk Radio, She’s Having A Baby, and Beetle Juice.
The rest is pure sh-t.
Didn’t he get mad at hannity and slam hannity as just a carpenter?
Maybe I'm thinking of one of the other Baldwins, or something.
Glengary Glenn Ross is studied in acting classes across the world, with a focus on Baldwin’s performance. Alec’s politics may be noxious, and he has starred in some stinkers, but he is a talented thespian. The same can’t be said of any of his brothers, who are adequate at best.
He played a pretty decent COL Travis in an Alamo movie.
Typical actor's lament: a talent for taking on the persona of other people, yet they fail to develop their own spirit.
Ahhhh, fuggedaboutit...it's driving him crazy that a loon like Al Franken is an United States Senator.
So do we, Alec ... so do we.
One exception ... the Hulu commercial. That was actually funny!
A little hard on himself there.
He is a good actor.
Unfortunately his conservative brother Stephen aka Barney Rubble and Paulie Shore’s sidekick in Bio-Dome is not.
All the brothers should have made like a crappy Western together were they played bank robbers or something.
He nailed that. And from what I’ve read, it was only ONE take. He sure was pretty in his younger years. ;)
See if you can find him trying to seduce ‘Canteen Boy’ (Adam Sandler) from SNL. I know; kinda sick, but it cracked me up. (And I have three boys...who NEVER would’ve put up with THAT when they wre in Boy Scouts, LOL!)
