Alec Baldwin, the US actor, has said he has lost interest in acting and considers his film career a failure.
"I consider my entire movie career a complete failure," he told the magazine. "The goal of moviemaking is to star in a film where your performance drives the film, and the film is either a soaring critical or commercial success, and I never had that."
Baldwin has expressed interest in politics in the past but did not say in the interview what he intended to do if he quit acting.

I think I remember a movie where Alec was the bad guy and got pushed off the top of a building at the end.
I enjoyed that one.

He can’t get over the fact that his best acting “performance” was the parody cartoon version playing him in “Team America”
Awec Bawldwin wanted one-world rulership just like in that movie and now even the global warming scam is falling apart...... no wonder he’s so depressed.

I believe you're thinking of The Hunt for That Red Submarine Or Something.
To: irishtenor
jerk? yes, it’s called type-casting
I will agree with some posters that he’s performed some good roles, and I think that “Hunt for Red October” is an excellent movie.... haven’t seen any of his TV work at all.
Besides, any man who gets to marry both a “Bond girl” and a Playmate in one package (Kim Basinger) can’t be a total failure :^) although that turned out really really badly so I guess he is a total failure....... but I do think he was/is a credible actor when he doesn’t let his political b.s. get in the way.
