In a quest that is seen as wacky, way out there and as bitter partisan politics by some,the issue of Obama not showing his birth certificate to prove he is a naturalized American citizen continues. Is this really just some conspiracy theory along the lines of 9/11 truthers and alien cover ups? At first glance it seems like it. But surprisingly many American’s seem to actually believe there is some possibility of truth in this claim that Obama is not a citizen. WND continues to run stories on it but most recently a congressman’s town hall meeting became overwhelmed with the issue.
Many people will immediately jump up and say “Obama produced a birth certificate, what more do you want?” Apparently Obama provided a certificate of live birth (COLB) which is not the same as a long form birth certificate. The long form birth certificate should provide evidence that can be corroborated. The COLB provided on factcheck.org does not show a hospital, doctor’s name or anything else that can be checked, just a time and city. This COLB can also be obtained by non citizens.
Obama could easily release his long form birth certificate but hasn’t. Just to stop people from talking about it and to show that he has the most transparent administration, you think he would.
Many liberals, moderates and even some conservatives will probably read this and just say “get over it already.” There is a time to let things go and personally I already have. Not because I don’t think it’s important but because I think Obama will never release this information and even if it is true that he is not a natural citizen, that nothing will change. But should people just get over this? If it is true, it is the biggest scam in history. People never got over Bush’s decision to go to war with Iraq, should everyone just forget about this issue?
The argument could easily be made that if Obama does not qualify to be president than all of the bills he signed and executive orders he issued would have to be undone. This is very important but would cause huge upheaval. I don’t know if the American people would be able to handle this kind of event and the ramifications of the loss in trust of the government. It doesn’t mean the truth shouldn’t be fully investigated though but I sincerely doubt it ever will be
Be it pro bono or a million dollars, the fight to keep it under wraps is costing his lawyers quite a lot of time away from their normal practice. Funny how every time this gets kicked up a notch something is always waiting in the wings to distract everyone? Cook gets fired from his civilian job and Sarah gets slapped with another suit. Bingo! Distraction time!

You see..., you — yourself — also accepted other Presidential candidates in the past *on that very same basis* (their signed legal affirmations) without ever seeing their birth certificate. It’s nothing new, and it’s been done all the time, in the past.
I’d pay good money to see some reporter ask Obama this question in a press conference:”Sir, how do you respond to the assertion by both the Kenyan ambassador and YOUR OWN GRANDMOTHER that you were born in Kenya? Are both lying, sir”?
You see, either way, there’s no “upside” for him, personally or politically to show it...

Yes, but the state of Hawaii would have no way of knowing he was already married. He likely lied both to Bambi's mom as well as on his marriage license application.
Thus, chances are that Obama's mother had moved to Kenya residing there the months preceding Obama's 1961 birth.
There's absolutely no evidence to back it up.
Furthermore, the idea that a pregnant woman, with virtually no financial resources, would travel half way around the world to give birth in a third world country in 1961 is pattently absurd. Do you have any idea how difficult and expensive it would have been to get from Hawaii to Kenya in 1961? It's laughable that anyone would even considered it as a serious possibility.
Obama's own grandmother states that she was present when Obama was born in Kenya.
If you listen to the whole tape, she clearly states Obama was born in Hawaii while she was in Kenya.
Now, how could Obama be born in Kenya or Hawaii and then have his mother enrolled at the University of Washington later that same month? Unlikely movement!
It's not hard to reconstruct what happened. Bambi's mom meets dashing young African with an exotic charm for whom she falls in love. She gets pregnant some time in Nov. 1960 while a student at U of H. Marries the dude in Feb. of 1961 without doing any background research. He fails to tell her he was already married to another woman back in Kenya. Some time later she finds out he's a bigamist, or at least not the prince charming she thought he was. After Junior is born, she wants to get away from the scoundrel, so she runs away with her baby to some family friends in Mercer Island, WA, enrolling in classes at the UW in the Fall of '61.
Or you can believe a pregnant American college girl, with radical feminist views and few financial resources, flies halfway around the world, on a greuling 2-3 day journey that she can't pay for, just so she can legally marry a polygamist and join his harem, and give birth in thrid world conditions to boot.
No sane person should have much trouble deciding which is more plausible.

Medical clinics don't typically keep records for 40 years. Furthermore, clinics in big cities like Honolulu tend to be pretty impersonal, so it's very unlikely the staff there would remember someone after 40 years. I have no idea who the doctor who delivered me was, and I seriously doubt any doctors who saw my mother while she was pregnant would remember her or me after all these years.
I have not heard of any which is a good indication that she was in Kenya.

There is no evidence he was adopted, nor is there evidence he ever officially changed his name in the US. And no, the Indonesian private school registration form is not evidence of either.
He would then have lost natural born citizenship if he even ever had it.

He attended Occidental College as Barry Soetoro. Occidental College informed Newsweek that Obama enrolled as a foreign student (info at FreeRepublic).
There is no evidence of either claim.
By simply releasing his original long form birth certificate, Obama could prove whether he is a natural born citizen or not.
A short-form COLB is sufficient to prove his natural born status, and is accepted by the US state department as such.

I have yet to see a single piece of evidence that he's spent a dime. And no, the fact that some high-power attorneies filed briefs on his behalf does not constitute such evidence. Those who assert it is don't seem to understand the concepts of "retainer" and "pro-bono."

The Kenyan ambassador said afterwards that he was talking about the father and he thought that’s who it was. Now, whether you believe that or not — *that* is what is “on the record” from that Kenyan ambassador.
Now, in regards to the grandmother, that’s something which can easily be dismissed — once again — with some weasel statement saying that she didn’t understand what was being asked — and then the President says *immediately* — “Next Question...” LOL...
And after that, you can bet your bottom dollar that this reporter won’t be in any more press conferences with the President... :-)

The address information in the supposed birth announcement is false, so who knows why this piece of specious data is so important to DUers and some working FR.

It was not challenged at that time. It is being challenged now. The American people have a right to know if he is legitimate or not. He doesn’t have a legal right to keep it hidden now.
Search the several sites that show how the COLB is a forgery.

A clear sign you're familiar with Obamacare. All these lawsuits being rejected is omminous in and of itself. He's clearly being "protected" while" transparency" (Obama's ridiculous claim) concerning disclosure about his college and birth info has become Obama's legal money pit.

They should invoke the 25th Amendment, make Biden President, and decide whether to elect a new President in 2010 or 2012.
At that point, he should then be deported until he can apply for citizenship through the normal processes, either to Britain, Kenya, or Indonesia.

The time when that kind of credibility would count for a *whole lot more* is before an election. But, it didn’t seem to make any difference.
And now that it’s after the election and he’s in office, there’s nothing that he has to bolster his “credibility” for (in terms of being qualified for office) because he’s *already in office*.
In addition, there’s no “upside” with his “credibility” in any other area, because the only ones who are pushing this issue would never be for anything Obama did anyway, even if he did produce his birth certificate and did prove he was qualified under the Constitution.
You and/or all the others here would not stop opposing Obama, even if you knew he was qualified per the Constitution. Thus, again — no “upside” for him...

They use name calling and lies to belittle anyone who asks about the BC. No doubt they have never read the Constitution.
With both the Major’s case in the news and Keyes case in CA they are getting active. It rather amusing that they have to stoop so low.
