No sooner had the $805B bail-out bill passed the House than Pelosi went to the TV cameras and promised show trials under Henry Waxman to pin the blame for this mess (on Republicans). She then praised Barney Frank's courage and leadership in delivering the country from the evil of Republicans in general and Wall Street in particular.
Denny Hoyer then spoke of how we must never let the greedy lenders destroy the economy and that he is going to make sure that never happens again.
James Clyburn assured viewers that Congress will make sure that no one loses their home to greedy criminals in banking and investment. he didn't say how he will do this but there was a lot of soft chuckling among the other Dem reps at this remark.
Rahm Emanuel stated that the Dem Congress will ensure a middle class tax cut and ensure a retirement fund for everyone. Because the economy has been built on a bad foundation, the middle class has suffered and that can't be allowed to continue. This bill passed because of the heroic efforts of Barack Obama, who single-handedly brought together the coalition that has just passed the bail-out bill.
John Larson thanked Barney Frank for single-handedly saving the country from the evil spawned by Bush's minions and conservatives in general. He says that the first direction the next Congress will take is ensuring everyone has top medical insurance...
Fox then broke-in...analysis says this is setting the tone for the rest of the campaign to ensure massive re-regulation of the economy by a bigger, stronger Dem Congress, with Obama's kindly hand on the tiller.
The people of this Nation of ours should demand, not request, but demand investigation by independent groups as to what is really going on. Fine, we have the new Bill. Now go back and find out what REALLY happened and let the chips fall where they may. Didn’t Obama and others receive hundreds of thousands of dollars from Freddie Mac?

They are not going to police the banks. They are the party of the banks.
I was displeased that my critter, Biggert, switched from one of the staunch opponents to a yes vote. I like her nonetheless.
Really, the blame is on President Bush for once again sticking it to conservative Republicans in teh name of being “bipartisan.” If your own President attacks you for standing up for principles he also alledgedly holds, it makes things quite difficult.

If somebody threw water on Pelosi, chances are she would melt away.
On the bright side, my local gun shop owner told me today that gun and ammo sales are up over 200% when I went there to buy some more ammo.
Yeah, fine, whatever. But did the “certain wooden arrows designed for used by children” get their tax exemption?

Can you imagine how many people the government is going to have to contract when it becomes a property manager?
There are going to a few realtor who will get the listings and they’ll make millions.
Then they’ll need inspectors to go out all over this country and determine if the properties are worth trying to sell.
Next there’ll be appraisers to determine current market value.
Inspectors will have to inspect the propertiers to make sure they’re structually sound.
And then contractors will be needed to fix up the properties before they can sell them.
All good work if you have the contacts.
Scary to think that these loons could be fully in power next Jan. No end to what they might do. I hope guys like McCain and former Pres. Bush do not stand idly by as the “loyal opposition.” We are going to need real leadership. Probably only Rush can provide that though.
Perhaps if the lefties make enough extreme moves it will at least galvanize conservatives enough so that there will be a comeback. That is if we are not all shipped off to reeducation camps.
