The story is a joke, minus Teh Funnay.
This cartoon about Death and a cat is actually quite good.

I do not understand people’s anger at the cat. We all die. We all face death 24/7. I would be very grateful to have such a lovely furry creature acknowledging my presence in my last hours or days. If this cat was murdered may the killer live their afterlife in the pits. The cat did not deserve to die for their fear.

You’ll be glad to know that it’s a parody site, though this is not terribly funny.

I suppose that there was always a risk of this happening whenever he got into his own bed.

your car killed my cat. That's a good one. Too funny.... If I were your brother I would have begun humming the mew, mew, mew song to the neighbor.

“Sure managed to bring out the usual cat-haters on the site, anyway.”

And a few outraged cat lovers as well.
I can’t complain though. I’ve been duped by Onion on more than one occasion, and for once I actually read the piece, including the site’s motto before jumping to conclusions. Got a clue early on that this was phony. Of course, there are those who would know it was phony and still be offended.
By the way I have a cat whom I love dearly. It’s just that we have to sometimes step back and enjoy a laugh once in a while.
To: chordmaster
Geesh! I only just heard about this kitty!
