Cool, the first OFST of the new year. My only standing resolution was to make no more resolutions and I've already broken it. *shrugs*

Kitty, this is my buddy Hattend... he took care of some of my beverage needs at Reno this year.
Hattend, Kitty is my buddy in SF. She should join my crew next year!!
Would love to join the crew next year! Although, that could mean trouble....
Thanks for the kind words. I hope to hold on to it (the car) but woudn't mind a boat...
Speaking of Shasta..
My family used to go to Shasta Lake every summer, rent a houseboat and vacation there. But somehow the lake seems to have gotten lower and lower each year. Still a great place though.
And one time (at band camp - no) when I was 3, we got into a horrific accident while crossing the then 2 lane bridge over Shasta Lake, and almost went off the bridge. Apparently some drunk driver swerved and almost crashed into us head on. Anyway, at the time because seat belts weren't used (back in the 70's) I was sitting on someone's lap in the front seat and I went through the windshield and was almost killed, were it not for the first car that went by being a nurse and being able to tend to me appropriately. I remember it too, I remember being in the hospital and being upset that they had to cut off my favorite turtle neck because of all the glass in my face. And I remember screaming for my parents too. Weird what we remember from that age, if anything.
You should take it to one of the hot rod shows. There were a lot of hot cars for sale.
May have to get another blender. I may have 2 boxes this year. Depends on how many relatives want to go.
Kitty, watch for my Reno Air Races thread in a couple of months...I'll ping you! SF isn't that far from Reno...right up I-80
DD, what does a crewperson with no airplane mechanical experience do? (unless you have a weapons pod that needs servicing) A lot of wax and a buff cloth, right?
What a pretty car! Wish I could paint mine like that.
Thanks, engine is brand new, the poor baby lives in our garage covered except when we drive it around the neighborhood. Strictly drag, very loud and fast. My husband wants to focus on our boat now. She'll make someone very happy, just have to find the right person. He's had it for almost 20 years I think (way before I was around), so it's pretty sentimental to him.
I know it is hot. The second it drove in, everyone stopped and stared.
oops, forgot to ping you to #448
I am late to this discussion, but a good story just popped into my head - I swear to you it's true:
I live and work in a very small town - our local paper only comes out twice a week. Anyway, there is a local gal who sells printer ink and other equipment and delivers it here to where I work. She decided several years ago to have herself "enhanced".
God as my witness, the local paper did a FULL PAGE, feature story on it in their "Community" section. Why did you do it, clothed before and after pics, the whole works. It was absolutely hilarious.
How many of you Freeperettes would have this done and have a newspaper story about it? LOL
I had my $$ on Ratzinger.
Wasn't he the guy in Cheers?
Of course, I can't put too much stock in this award, as Vermont came in first. Vermont, home of Judge Edward "I don't believe in punishment so I'll give the child molester 60 days" Cashman. I'm sure he alone is responsible for lowering the IQ of his state to the level of a turnip.
Pardon me but mine was named by Mrs. BJC.
No, I won't tell you.
Wax, buff, get drinks, keep Dasher from killing Ex-...
It's a big job!
Wow, but that's how small towns run, right? They have to get news where they can find it. Where I live I think it is "expected"...LOL! I would love to live in a small town...someday.
Yeah, we got a near record snowpack in 2004 and Shasta still was a bit low. Gotta ship that water to LA, doncha know.
Whiskeytown is a better recreational lake but you have to go to Shasta if you want to float a houseboat.
Sounds like you had a wreck on the Bridge Bay bridge. That was a very scary bridge back in the 60's-70's...it's been widened to 4 lanes since then and the opposing lanes now have a crash barrier in between. Who knows, your wreck may have been one of the many that was the impetus for widening the bridge...THANKS!!
