(just pretend there is a strawberry in here somewhere?)
"Senior" personal ads seen in Florida and Arizona newspapers:
FOXY LADY: Sexy, fashion-conscious blue-haired
beauty, 80's, slim,5'-4" (used to be 5-6), searching
for sharp-looking, sharp-dressing companion. Matching
white shoes and belt a plus.
MINT CONDITION: Male, 1932, high mileage, good
condition, some hair, many new parts including hip,
knee, cornea, valves. Isn't in running condition, but
walks well.
LONG-TERM COMMITMENT: Recent widow who has just
buried fourth husband looking for someone to round out
a six- unit plot. Dizziness, fainting, shortness of
breath not a problem.
SERENITY NOW: I am into solitude, long walks,
sunrises, the ocean, yoga and meditation. If you are
the silent type, let's get together, take our
hearing aids out and enjoy quiet times.
WINNING SMILE: Active grandmother with original
teeth seeking a dedicated flossier to share rare
steaks, corn on the cob and caramel candy.
BEATLES OR STONES? I still like to rock, still like
to cruise in my Camaro on Saturday nights and still
like to play the air guitar. If you were a groovy
chick, or are now a groovy hen, let's get together and
listen to my boss collection of eight-track tapes.
MEMORIES: I can usually remember Monday through
Thursday. If you can remember Friday, Saturday and
Sunday, let's put our two heads together.
Night all! "see" you tomorrow.

Good evening, Tulip.
I picked so many strawberries for cakes and pies today that I needed a nap this afternoon. :)
Hope you had a good day.

I had a good day. I ran some errands and finished one of the papers I was working on. I didn't get a nap though. So I think I'll get some sleep now. Good night!
To: tuliptree76
Good night, Tulip. Sweet dreams.
Hope you get a chance to come by for Armed Forces Day tomorrow.

You Watch The Moon
You speak of moonlight, while I sweat,
Your evening hasnt got here yet.
The moon you see, will shine for me,
As I lie down with memory,
My worries, and the days heartaches,
And all the pain from my mistakes.
I gather calmness from the dusk,
And breathe the scents of evenings musk,
The twilight brings the evenings calm,
And confidence from your songs balm.
For you have seen this day and night,
And found it not a source for fright.
You faced the challenge, and in time,
Incorporated it in rhyme.
You walked with Day and held its hand,
While you stood strong in a foreign land.
The heart of evil that will try,
To harm us must first face your eye,
And you will cause its force to wither,
Before it dares to journey hither.
We thank you then for standing there,
While we sleep soundly without care.
Your loved ones and a grateful nation,
Protected from Wars desolation,
A world away, but held so close,
Each of us missing what we love most.
Take heart that as you watch the moon,
Your task will end, youll come home soon.

A Sailor's Wife
A sailors wife has a high price to pay
Loving her man the six months hes away
Feeling alone amidst all the crowd
Praying for him with head silently bowed
Watching him go with a tear in her eye
He turns around for one last goodbye
She blows his way one more little kiss
Knowing how badly those lips she will miss
No arms to hold her tightly at night
No one to whisper "honey itll be alright"
Wiping her eyes and sucking in the ache
Watching the ship go and following its wake
His duty to wife, family, and nation
Will be done from a faraway station
Shes thinking of him and he of her
Making time go by in what seems a blur
And when its all over which never seems the case
Her sailor will return with a smile on his face
But until that shining moment is here
She sits and thinks "I have nothing to fear"
And even though hes in a faraway land
She thinks of his face so charming so grand
Hes thinking of her on every new day
Loving her always come whatever may
And so anyone can see the love that they share
Will endure his time away with this foreign affair
And so she is happy with what has become of her life
Oh the pride she feels as a sailors wife!

Lady Warrior
She is your little sister,
She is your neighbors wife.
She is somebodys daughter,
Youve known her all her life.
She may be someones mother,
She may be someones nurse.
She now has an M-16,
But once it was a purse.
Shes as soft as satin fine,
Shes also tough as steel.
She may fly a fighter jet.
For so strong is her will.
She is the female warrior,
She serves her nation well.
She may be from northern climes,
Or even Southern Belle.
Honor her and show respect,
And pray for her each night.
Know that she is still a girl,
But not afraid to fight.

The Warrior
The Warrior isnt all fight,
Theres more to him than that.
Theyre brothers, fathers, husbands,
When they arent in combat.
Men train to fight when need be,
But once they were just boys.
Now they carry weapons tight,
But they still miss their toys.
The fight requires their focus,
They take it all in stride.
Pray for them as they protect,
And pray for those whove died.
To them we owe our freedom,
They put it on the line.
If you cannot support them,
Leave soon please, that is fine.
