Hello again...& Welcome to ATRW for Tues., Apr. 19!
As the week continues....
John Bolton's name is set to be sent to the Senate Floor for confirmation as UN Ambassador...
Longtime Republican Cong. from Illinois, Henry Hyde announced his retirement at term's end.
For the first time in 4 weeks, gasoline prices at the pump have dropped...a few cents.
An Iraqi Maj. General and his son were assassinated late Monday returning to Baghdad from Madain.
And the Cardinals met for the first day of their deliberations with no new Pope selected.
We Will Not Tire, We Will Not Falter, and We Will not Fail!
It's almost there. It was quite a puncture wound, but it is clean and nearly healed. Thanks for asking. As I mentioned earlier,,, it's a long ways from my heart.
No ma'am.....day off.
The ping was issued last night.
While Molly is filling in for Chairman, she is pinging in advance the p.m. before the day of the thread.
So your most recent ATRW ping was issued last night but is actually for this morning's thread.:)
Maybe they're waiting until the regular 6:00 bells are done before pealing the "Pope" bells..............
Hmmmmmmm............
It is a beautiful day here, more like June than April. Lots of flowering trees in bloom, tulips up, and perenniials are building steam.
IG...sorry you are groggy but I am glad your thumb has healed.
Common Tator, I will try to read your column this afternoon while the 2-year old is napping.
Off to do a quick check of the news..
Sorry........guess I'm a little excited.;^)
VERY conservative!
Deo Gratias!!!!!!!
Kay, Hi! How did he die? I hadn't heard this before.HOB
Deo Gratias! Pope Benedict XVI has my prayers, that he will glorify God in his life and ministry and that many will come to faith in Christ.
Perhaps I haven't worded that correctly, but please know that I sincerely mean it.
Don't be sorry, btw. You have every right and permission to be excited and to share your joy with us.
Joining you in those prayers, Jemian. May God use Pope Benedict XVI to His glory!
Thanks! I don't get to the thread until later sinceI am at work. Sometimes, (often) I just lurk nowadays. I do think of youse guys often though!
Thanks Kay. Silly me went straight there after asking you for help! Thanks again, HOB
Where is he from? Speculation in this office is that it is a shame he is so conservative since the church is losing ground globally and can't get enough priests. (Remeber I work in a liberal bastion of education)

Apparently he is from Germany.
From what I've read elsewhere at this site, he is Conservative with a capital C.

I shall watch closely as hubby is Catholic and I am a Lutheran. Already there is buzz in this office that he is a divider. I say already with almost a loathing in my voice. ALthough I consider my colleagues to be friends some of their liberal thoughts (or non-thoughts) really seem out of line. Nothing like not giving the new Pope a chance to become a uniter regardless of his "past". But I think they are getting their information from MSN.com. that should explain a lot!
