Good morning, Diva.
Spring is showing its face here.
Daffodils and ranuculas are blooming.
The fruit trees are in full bloom. Just beautiful.
Our temps should get to 80 tomorrow;
suppose to cool to the 60's next week.
Have a great day and a lovely spring.

Have a wonderful day, Darks.

OH, I LOVE daffodils. Remind me of my favorite fishing hole. They grow wild there in the spring.

Outstanding poem, CG!
Great graphics too!
WHERE'S MY EAR SCHPLITTIN' LOUDEN~BOOMER?
Two weekends ago I visited the Museum Udvar~Hazy
A wonderful place for History and Quality Time
Though some there thought I was crazy
To note one missing plane in the section "Cold War"-
How can you honor the planes of the 1960s
Without honoring the "Thunderchief", F-105?
Oh, the Navy has its "Bug Ugly", Phantom F-4
That did everything it was asked and Morey
From the Delta to Hanoi, boonies and sticks
Right beside its ugly cousin the Grumman A-6
Slow and tandem crewed, minus guns;
With hard-points for Napalm and "Snake-Eyes" Glori
There was a gap that needed a fix
Quite noticeable and that's no joke or jive
Where was my long and lean, deafeningly loud and mean Multi~Tasked baby, the "Thud"?-
Take a huge honking reliable engine
Slap on angled~in intakes and swept back wings
A needle at the nose and one or two guys up front
And for making war you have just the thing
Drop bombs?... No sweat!..."Wild Weasel"?... You bet!
Burn an acre of jungle in a pass
Then jam SAM Radars while heading "Downtown"
So a "Linebacker" BUF makes it back without a scratch.

I loved the Thud. KANG had a crap load of them at McConnell AFB KS when I was stationed there 73-76 with USAF SAC. The USAF and KANG shared a runway.
Like the poem too!

The "Thud" was an all around great airplane, CG.
Designed as a nuclear bomber in th 50s. A wonderful Testbed
for tactics that are taken for granted today.
The DCANG had a squadron of them in the late 1970s and would religiously wreck our In~Hangar Commanders Call the Saturday morning of each UTA. Winding up loudly to a high keen.
Then the distinctive, trademark three seconds of silence before the "BOOM!" of the Thuds' afterburners kicked in.
There still aren't many planes that can beat it for speed "On The Deck" today.
The DCANG went from "Thuds" to "Big Uglys" to "Lawn Darts" today, but it just isn't the same.
Jack.

It's granddaddy was the P-47 of WWII.
The Thud glided like a manhole cover.
